"BODIES UPON THE SAND"

JAPAN SPTEMBER 5, 1943

On a gorgeous beach in Japan, where combat was fought hand to hand, lie three bodies upon the sand.

The three together they died, now all alone lying side by side.

Seagulls screech overhead, sadness fills the air. Were they young or old? What were their names? Dose anyone even care?

I wonder about the families they might have had, Wives? Sweethearts? What nameless child lost a Dad?

Gently waves roll and toss over the little clan; they were brave to stay and fight, for their bodies lie upon the sand…

Giving their lives to keep America free, our fallen heroes lie dead without a single pray said.

I can't help but cry, they gave all just to die, going through more than we could stand; I cry for those precious bodies upon the sand…
