Wendy sat at the back seat of Stan's car, gazing causally through the window. She covered her mouth as a soft yawn escaped her. She and Dipper were going camping today and she couldn't help feeling excited about it. Dipper was sitting next to her and he seems as eager as she was.
Soon enough, they reached the bottom of the mountain and Stan pulled over.
"Thanks for the ride, Mr. Pines," she said, gratefully.
"Just make sure he doesn't get himself into trouble, okay? I heard there's a weird animal has been seen in the woods last night and I don't him going after it." Stan stated gruffly.
Wendy laughed at this while Dipper's face burned with embarrassment, feeling like a little kid right now.
"Don't worry, boss. I'll keep an eye on him, I promise." she replied and ruffled the boy's hair. Dipper gave his uncle an annoyed glare which he returned with a loud chuckle.
"Have fun kids, I'll be seeing you two tomorrow." With that said, the con-man drove away leaving them standing there for a moment.
"You ready?" she asked him.
Dipper nodded. "Yep, I'm all set." He gave his backpack a quick pat to prove it.
"Okay, let's go." Wasting no time, they made their way through the woods to find their chosen camping spot. Because of her father's job Wendy has been to the woods so many times she lost count whether to help her family cut down some trees or hanging out with her friends.
Dipper meanwhile stared down at his map thoughtfully. "According to our map, we should be there in two hours or so."
"Okay," she nodded. They stopped twenty minutes later to have lunch before continuing.
The rest of the walk was spent in silence until they reached the spot around afternoon. It was a small opening in the woods with a few trees, shrubs, and a river where they could go fishing.
Taking a deep breath of fresh air, she dropped her backpack on the ground and stretched her arms.
"So, what do you think?" she asked.
"It's perfect." he answered and did the same. "We should start setting our tent before the sun goes down,"
"Alright, I'll set the tent while go get the fire wood." Wendy suggested. Dipper nodded in understanding and soon left.
Without hesitation, the lumberjack girl began setting their tent. Suddenly, she saw something moving in the trees. The figure was dark and large, but it left before she could get a good look at it.
She stared there for a moment and shrugged. Whatever that was it's gone now.

"Alright, the fire's ready!" Wendy announced. "We can start on the s-mores now."
"Here, I already got a stick for you." Dipper said and gave her the stick.
"Thanks, Dip." Wendy smiled and sat next to him. The sun soon sat and the sky turned dark. The forest was quiet at the moment and the only light was coming from the small fire.
"Hey, I think the fire is starting to go out," Dipper pointed out.
"Stay here, I'll be right back." she stood up and made her way to the woods with her flashlight in hand. As she began collecting more fire wood she heard a branch snap behind her and the sound of heavy breathing.
She at first thought it was Dipper, but when she turned around she saw a big scaly creature glaring down at her.
Wendy screamed.
