This isn't in my schedule but I had to do it anyway. I have to write when something gets to me. And something has definitely gotten to me.

A hero.

That's what they call me.

A hero.

Because I fight? Because I use my powers to protect this town?

But I am small, oh so small, when compared to those who fight without the assurance of superhuman abilities. I am weak compared to those who throw themselves in the line of fire to protect those in danger when they know. They know full well they can't shoot back. They can't fly. They can't become invisible. They can't lift cars. But their great courage, their strength of character, their determination, allows them to save so many lives. Allows them to step in front of bullets, to keep a room full of people safe, without the security of special powers.

What am I compared to them?

If I am a hero, then they are the superheroes.

Dedicated to the victims, students, teachers, and most epically to those who put their lives on the line at VA Tech. Our hearts are with you.
