Summary: Quinn didn't believe in forgive and forget.
Quinn walked silently along the sidewalk on her way home. She had uncharacteristically decided to walk to cheer-leading practice that morning. She needed to clear her head. After last night she needed time to think. As she turned to look up the stone pathway that lead to the front door upon doing so she saw her sitting on the front step.
"What are you doing here?" Quinn asked coldly stopping a few feet away from the door.
"I needed to talk to you" Rachel said standing up and smoothing her skirt. "And you clearly were never going to call me back so."
"Can't take a hint can you?" Quinn said emotionless.
Rachel breathed out loudly and rocked back and forth on the balls of her feet. "Look I know I screwed up. Really screwed up but you have to talk to me. Let me apologize."
"And if I listen to your apology then what?" Quinn turned her head and made eye contact with the elderly lady who lived next door. She was trimming her rose bush and was within hearing limits so she lowered her voice. "Kiss and make up?"
"Well no of course not. I know it wont be that easy but Quinn..." She stopped and started to take a couple tentative steps forward "I just want to try and fix this. Please let me try."
The blonde let out a sarcastic laugh, turning from her neighbor to look at the brunette and took in her haggard appearance, her stupid kitten sweater and the ugly skirt that was clashing with the bright colored tights she wore underneath. Her face was in a pout that Quinn had seen many times before and even a couple times had found cute, but right now it seemed fake.
"You slept with Finn." Quinn said bluntly. "You kiss me and then a week later I find you in the bathroom with him trying to keep you balanced on the sink with your skirt pushed up and his pants around his ankles." She paused fighting the swell in her throat. "How do you suppose you'll go about fixing that?"
Rachel blinked as a few stray tears slipped down her cheeks. "I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. But you don't get it."
Quinn cut her off "Get what?" she asked sharply.
Rachel shook her head "I'm a loser, I've always been the outcast and then all the sudden the most popular guy in the whole school boy shows some interest in me. Me! How was I suppose to turn that down?"
"Come on Rachel! What did you think screwing him is going to make you popular? Do you think it's going to stop kids from snickering behind your back. Stop them from throwing stuff at you? You're not stupid so stop acting the part!" Quinn screamed
"Yes, yes I thought it might make them take me serious if I were...Finn's girlfriend" Rachel whispered.
Quinn laughed again "Girlfriend? Dear God Rachel you knew very well you'd never be his girlfriend. You were a lay! Something to talk about in the locker room, nothing more."
At that Rachel lost it and began to sob. Quinn rolled her eyes gave a clap and said "Bravo, bravo take a bow Rach you're going to be a star some day, really you are. You and I could have maybe had something real but you screwed that so go home and don't talk to me again. If you thought you were a outcast before wait till Monday morning dear."
With that Quinn started to walk to the door, gently pushing Rachel out of her way. She opened the door wide and shut it with a loud slam. Leaving the brunette standing outside in tears. Once inside she went to the keypad and turned on the sprinklers to add insult to injury.
Quinn was not one who believed in forgive and forget, ever.
You look so dumb right now
Standin' outside my house
Tryin' to apologize
You're so ugly when you cry
Please, just cut it out
