A game we played on the MSN RC group. Grab the nearest book flip to page ## using the ## word, write/draw something RC. The word this time was "auction" with 100 word limit.

China turned his face away from the crowd of nations, tears in his eyes though he didn't let a single one spill. The auction had gone for only half an hour, but it seemed like forever. A piece of him was sold every time, a piece of him felt dead.

"I'll bid 3 million" shouted England, who already bid for at least a third of him.

"Pffft, 3 mil? I say 5."

Yao's eyes stung, his hands were shaking, and he was a mess. "Go on" he thought, "Go on, strip me of all I have. Leave me on the ground abandoned. Don't care about me, leave me like my siblings or take them away. Go on, kill me."

There were more shouts, 7 mil, 10, mil, 12, but he did not hear them. He was being auctioned off like a common animal. A century ago he had worn gold and spoke to dragons, now he is wearing shackles, and had no voice. China cried pitifully, "So be it, let me die. I'm ready." When all of a sudden a voice rang out, loud and clear, and broke through his thoughts, "1 billion! For all of him!" the voice was low, yet smooth. "1 bil? 1 bil, anyone beat that? well, 1, 2, 3, sold, to Russia."

Russia, he heard of him before. A tall man wearing a scarf came on the stage, handed his boss the money, and pulled China in for a tight hug, whispering, "Don't worry, don't cry, I'll patch you back up no matter what," and for the first time China felt a tear slip down his cheek
