"What is it you want from me?" Emily demanded her arms folded tightly across her chest. "Seriously Kaitlyn what the hell do you want from me?"
A tight smirk made it's way to Kaitlyn's lips. "You really don't want to go there Emily." She spoke in a low, and careful voice.
Emily stepped up into the other girl's personal space. "Yes I do." She hissed not tearing her eyes from the closed up ones in front of her. "You aren't going to push me away this time Kait." Tears sparkled in her chocolate eyes. "Let me in."
"No." Kaitlyn shook her head. "No." She moved backwards away from the other girl. She tried to bring back her party girl attitude to surround her once more.
Emily moved forward uncrossing her arms as she did so. She grabbed hold on the other girl's upper arms. "Don't you dare Kaitlyn! Don't run away from this. Don't run away from me." She pressed her body tightly against the other girl's. "Don't." She breathed out.
Kaitlyn was shaking in then slightly shorter girl's arms. Her arms tightly remaining at her sides. She tried to stop the sobs that were rushing up through her chest; but she couldn't stop her body in time; and she moved forward as the sobs came bursting out.
Emily's right hand rose to rest against the side of the other girl's face. "I'm not going to leave you Kaitlyn. I'll never leave you." She whispered as she brushed the side of the sobbing girl's cheek with the pads of her fingers. "I promise you."
Kaitlyn threw her arms tightly around Emily; and nuzzled into the other girl's neck. She allowed the sobs to come forth; to finally leave her body. After several timeless minutes she finally grew quiet; as she just allowed Emily to comfort her. She allowed herself to live in the comfort moment for a little while longer ... until she felt strong enough to pull away. She couldn't remove her arms from around the slightly shorter girl; she stared deeply into the brown eyes of the other girl. Licking her lips. She swallowed around the lump in her throat; and tried to chase her fear down with the sheer trust that you found in Emily's eyes; in her soul ... that no matter what Emily wasn't going to leave you. "Okay first off I'm a lesbian."
Emily smiled. "I knew that."
Kaitlyn closed her eyes briefly gathering her courage; she opened her eyes. She needed to see into Emily's soul when she finally spoke out loud what her soul cried out for. "I'm completely and utterly in love with you."
"I love you also Kaitlyn." Emily spoke with a beautiful smile; and tears running freely down her cheeks. "I have been since the first moment I set my eyes on you."
Kaitlyn's eyes widen in sheer shocked. She tried to deny the truth; but all the years come rushing back to her. All the longing looks Emily shared with her ... all the disappointment in Emily's eyes whenever she tried to push Chris and James on her. All the loss in Emily's eyes as she kept losing the courage to speak up. "Okay I'm a total idiot." She breathed out.
Emily softly smiled as she stroked the other woman's skin once more; "You are human."
"But I wasted so much time." Kaitlyn frowned. "I wasted so much time that we could do this." She rested her forehead against Emily's. "I mean as soulmates ... not as best friends."
Emily hummed. She was lost in Kaitlyn's eyes as she finally saw the sheer love that Kaitlyn had in her soul for her. She knew that Kaitlyn read the exact same thing through her eyes. "I love you Kait." She whispered.
"I love you Emily." Kaitlyn husked. "Ever so much."
