Watching
He stood in the shadows and watched as his eldest and his youngest came together in a series of tight embraces and scorching kisses.
He'd known about them for a long time - since their friendship had gone a little further, then a lot. He tried not to dwell on it often - missed opportunities rankled at the best of times - and a lost love hurt all the more.
Despite this, he still watched - every time their passion overwhelmed their caution and they made love in the cave, he stood in the darkness and watched - punishing himself.
