Right after Tobias gets off the zipline he and a few others see a flash of light and then a figure hurriedly walking towards them.
"Uriah!" Zeke shouts.
"Thats not possible..." Tobias mutters.
Once Uriah reaches them he doesnt waste time, "I've been sent to give you one shot at fixing everything"
"Fix-"
"The balance has been broken. Tris was not supposed to die that day. Caleb was. Because of this you all will die, the system will collapse and her death will have been for nothing. Now, i can take you back to where you can change the past and save her life"
"What about you?", Zeke interjects.
"I'm afraid it was my time,"Uriah continues "Let's go!"
Uriah grabs Tobias's arm and they disappear with a flash of bright white light. Tobias opens his sleepy eyes and on the couch next to him is Tris. Breathing. Alive. Tobias feels her soft skin under his fingertips. Speechless. Tris's eyes open to his hand stroking her face.
"Hey" she says. He had never realized how perfect she was until she was gone.
"You are coming with me to the city tonight"
She Smiles "Ooh so romantic. But I have to stay here"
'Maybe it's just later that has to change' Tobias thinks.

The snow sweeps across the buildings lawn and Tobias has serious deja vu.
'Im too late! Again!'
He jumps out of the car and runs into the building just to be greeted by Cara, but her words are different...
"...in the lab. I don't know her condition, but she's weak"
The words barely register before he's off and running to the lab, not caring if the death serum is still in the air.
Tris lays on the ground...looking so peaceful. Tobias slides on his knees over to her. Her eyes flutter open when he touches her face.
"Oh thank god! I thought you were... I thought you were..." he can't help the tears that rush to his eyes. Tris strokes his cheek and with the other hand, she undoes a few clips and sits up enough so the bulletproof vest falls off her shoulders. There are white patches on it where bullets struck.
"It still hurts like hell" She lifts her shirt enough so they both see the red bumps on her side.
"Who..." Tobias has anger leeching into his voice and then sees a slumped over David in his wheelchair. Tobias stands up, ready to pounce but Tris grabs his arm.
"He doesn't remember, and can you help me up please?" She says while trying to stand, but failing.
They walk out of there, Tobias supporting her and are met with shouts of joy. First Caleb, then Cara and then Christina.
He can't tell who cries harder.

*Two and a half years later*

"Come on now!" Tobias says, "I know you will love it" He motions for Tris and his son to come in through the door of their new home. He had made a deal with Johanna and they got a portion of land from the old Amity sector.
"I love it daddy!" Uriah says. They named the boy after a great human. One of the best they had ever known.
"Its perfect for us" Tris says and Tobias pulls her in for a kiss" Little Uriah makes some sort of disgusted noise but they don't care.
Society now is free, people from the fringe have moved in and people from inside the experiment have moved all around. Including Marcus and Evelyn. Peter left for Milwaukee. Nobody has heard from him since.
Christina and Zeke come bursting through the door at that moment.
"Oooh are we interrupting?" She says and Tris shakes her head.
"Not at all"
Zeke and Tobias embrace in a hug. The bad blood from Zeke's brothers death has disappeared, mostly because Uriah wouldn't have wanted that.
"How's my little god son?" Zeke asks the toddler.
"I'm good!" He answers with a silly grin and they all laugh.
Perhaps the old remains of the faction's peacefulness is still contagious.
Maybe it always has been, after all, they have never been happier.
They must be honest.
Intelligent.
Kind.
Selfless.
Brave.
Divergent.
Forever.
