Ryan Wolfe does not give up
It is a well-known fact that Ryan Wolfe has many odd quarks and is stubborn as hell, but Ryan Wolfe does not give up.
He wonders though that if it was anyone else in his position that they would be looking for them. Horatio, Calliegh, Eric, and even Natalia. He can't help but think that if it was anyone else the full force of the MDPD would be out looking for them and the people who took them.
He doesn't understand. He doesn't know what he did to make them hate him so much. He never wanted to be anyone's replacement. He just wanted to Ryan Wolfe. He thought they knew that. Boy was he wrong.
He understood in the beginning. He knew they were hurting. He understood that they were missing a friend. That's why he took it all in stride: each hurtful comment and remark. He knew that they needed someone to direct their anger and hurt at, a scapegoat as they would say. Someone should have told him that it was not a role he wanted to play.
When he was on patrol he hand many friends. When he joined the crime lab and became a CSI he had none. They all hated him. Some more than others, but they all did in the end. So he guesses he shouldn't be surprised that they aren't looking for him when they don't even want him there.
So there he sits strapped down to a chair being tortured by Russians and he still hopes. Even though he knows in the back of his mind there is still hope. Hope that they will come, and save him from the pain. Eventually that hope, the small amount of hope he had, begins to fade. Hope was like the light in darkness that you want to go to. His light was fading, and the darkness was growing. As time dragged on hope of being rescued slipped away. In the end he should have known that they wouldn't come, but a man can hope right?
So again he sits bound to a chair and being tortured by Russians. During all of this he can't help but think about the role he didn't want but was force to play, the friends he doesn't have, and the hope inside of him that is fading into nothing. So he wonders if he gives up what would happen. Would anyone miss him?
No one would miss him because he was just Ryan Wolfe, the replacement for the great Tim Speedle. He wonders if they ever even saw Ryan Wolfe, probably not. He once again thinks about how no one is looking for him, and they probably don't even notice he is gone. He realizes that none of them sees Ryan Wolfe as Ryan Wolfe. They see the person who took their beloved Tim Speedle's spot on the team. So he decides that it doesn't matter if gives up or not because no one will notice or care. So he decides for just this once he's giving up.
Ryan Wolfe is giving up…
