The velvet night sky shined bright with stars,twinkling as if the sun would never rise again. There is a smile on his face as he looks over to her,she's looking up,an identical smile pull her perfect lips into a curve,he simply adores her,and everything about her. He realizes every time he looks at her that he has so much to be thankful for. He was so deep into a darkness,a darkness that became darker with every sip of whiskey he took. Every dangerous move he made the dark surrounded him more and more until the day she reached in and pulled him out. She was more then just a compass,she was the one who saved him from the destructive path he had been on. She could feel his eyes on her,she removes her gaze from the stars to be met with his cobalt blue eyes. She smiles lightly knowing that this man in front of her has made her a better person,he has given her that one thing she never thought she would have. He has given her love.
"What?" She asks quietly as he brings his hands to rest on the small of her back pulling her closer to him.
"Nothing Soph." He speaks softly as she rests her hands on his upper arms.
Quietly they stand close to one another,she enjoying the feel of his arms around her. She feels safe when he is holding her,like the rest of the world ceases to exist and for a moment it does, He just enjoys being able to have someone like her to love him for who he is and not try to change him. She leans her forehead against his as they both close their eyes knowing that nothing else mattered when they were together.
"Nate." her voice still a whisper.
"Yes?" He opens his eyes to stare into her darker hues.
"Promise me,you will always be here?" She asks pulling away from him so she could see his eyes.
"Sophie,Darling,I'm not going any where." He brings his hand to her face,using his thumb to gently trace her jawline.
Leaning into his touch she smiles lightly. Every time she is with him her heart finds a way to skip a few beats.
"Forever?" She asks. He finds it strange how she can sound so innocent when he knows deep down she is holding on to secrets. Secrets that he knows she will share with him when she is ready.
"Forever." He whispers as he brings his lips to hers,kissing her gently but with love.
As the kiss breaks and their lips slowly part,they share the same goofy smiling,knowing they will have each other to lean on when the time came for it. Knowing that all they needed was each other and they had finally found the one thing to fill that empty filling they both had inside.
