Zoro is no doctor, but he's perfect - kanpeki - to Luffy.
"Ow! Zoro, that hurts!"
"I know, Luffy, but just try to hold still..."
Luffy whimpered as Zoro wiped more blood off of the tweezers. "Zoro, dogs are stupid."
"I know that." Zoro sighed as he stared at Luffy's leg. "But it's your fault for stepping on it. It wouldn't have attacked you otherwise."
"But I didn't see it! It was brown. It looked like a big rock!"
Walking through port a while earlier, Luffy had stepped on a sleeping brown dog. The dog, trying to defend itself, had sunk its teeth into Luffy's calf. Unfortunately, one of the dog's teeth has fallen out andbecome lodged in Luffy's stretchy rubber skin, and now they couldn't get it out.
"It would probably be easier to get this out if it wasn't so slippery..."
"I can't help if I'm bleeding!"
"I know you can't. Wait... I think I've almost got it!"
"Really?" Luffy looked down at his wound to see, and he cringed. "Ow!"
"Dont look at it or think about it, Luffy. That just makes it hurt worse. Concentrate all of your attention on thinking about something you really like, okay?"
"What should I think about?"
"I don't know! Meat, or your hat. Your favorite thing in the world."
"Okay."
Luffy clenched his eyes shut and Zoro struggeld a little longer with the tooth. Just trying to take it out made him wince, but Luffy was comepletely still and quiet, a rare feat for Luffy, especially Luffy in pain. Zoro kept feeling the need to make sure his captain was still breathing.
"Ah...there, I got it!" Zoro tossed the tooth and the tweezers over the side of the Going Merry and wrapped Luffy's leg in bandages. "Okay, Luffy, I'm done. You can open your eyes now."
Luffy opened his eyes and grinned. "Thanks, Zoro! It feels a lot better now!"
"I've never seen you sit so till. What were you thinking about that you liked so much?"
"You."
Zoro blinked.
"Okay, Zoro, I'm gonna go play hide-and-seek with Usoppu now! Will you come play with us? Zoro... Zoro? Oi, are you okay?"
"What?" Zoro blinked again. "Oh, uh... yeah, I'm fine."
"Wanna come play?"
"Not right now. Maybe later, okay?"
"Oh. Okay. See ya later, Zoro."
Zoro smirked as he watched Luffy run off, then he leaned back against the mast and went to sleep.
