Thank you all for being patient! I have matured in my writing skills, so I believe this story will be more accurate and make more sense than my previous version!
Chapter 1: Life as a Lie
Naoki POV
Everyday seemed dull and repetitive.
Wake up, eat, sleep.
Then there was school, Kotoko and I managed to keep our distance from each other. She didn't bother even looking at me either, from what I heard she broke off from her friend group too.
Sometimes—just sometimes I wished that she could say hello, or maybe acknowledge my presence.
Summer break started tomorrow, but that just gave me all the more reason to feel lonely.
Mom didn't say much anymore and would just do the household chores then arrest to her room. Father wasn't around the house a lot either due to the work from Pandai. He said that the company was on the brink of plummeting and he would pull all-nighters. Much money wasn't being made either and he was worried that we wouldn't be able to pay off the house rent. Yuuki seemed to have the same schedule as me too, and he slowly shifted over to his old room.
As we were eating dinner tonight, there was an uncomfortable silence pricking me, and both mom and dad would exchange worried glances.
Dad started to talk, "There's been something, something that I need to tell you all".
Yuuki stopped picking at his food momentarily, giving father his full attention. Unlike him, I kept my head down and started coldly at my untouched plate.
"Pandai", he sighed, "is going to shut down".
It seemed like mom had already known and she was avoiding eye contact with everyone.
"We haven't been able to make much money, and we are planning on selling this house"
I had figured that he would have to resort to the option, and I knew that Yuuki was trying hard to cover his shocked face to stay mature.
"For the time being, we have decided to stay with a friend"
Kotoko
I slowly started to look upwards and look my father directly in the eye.
Mom started to talk as well, "We plan on staying with Shigeo".
That should be it for the first chapter, sorry this one is short but I plan on making the next one at least 1,000 words.
