Some people thought that Drew and Leo were secret lovers.

Others, like Cabin 9, Piper, and Jason, knew that couldn't be true. Drew would flaunt the fact that she had a boyfriend if it were correct, or she would be using Leo to get to Jason, and rub it in his face. Besides, Piper knew she never left the cabin at night.

Cabin 9 was the exact same way, Leo was always working on the ship. It was either that, or eating. Rarely did he train or participate in regular camp activities. And as willing as he might seem, Leo would never hook up with some random girl.

Most of the campers were smart, they realized that Drew and Leo never talked, and they didn't even acknowledge that the other existed. Except for those rare times that started the rumours in the first place.

Once Leo and Jason had a yelling match. It wasn't a pretty sight either, the grass was left burnt and charred, and the camp soaked from the rain that Mr. D didn't feel like keeping out of the borders. Directly afterwards, during lunch, Jason had been somber. Leo on the other hand was laughing his head off as usual. One would never think he had just fought with his best friend.

The only difference was that Leo seemed to be ignoring the fight all together, making more jokes than usual. His grin was wider, his laugh 's where Drew came in.

Walking back from sacrificing to the gods, Drew flicked the back of his head. He turned around, and grinned playfully, looking up at her in question. No words were said, but the daughter of Aphrodite gave him a pointed look, and raised her eyebrows. A quick flash of emotion - warning - crossed her eyes before she strutted away, like nothing had happened.

Leo stopped acting weird. And moments after Drew left, he went and apologized to Jason.

Another time was during a war council.

Drew had been extremely rude and mean to everyone in the room, even more so than usual. Eventually, she told Lou Ellen that she had no sense of fashion, and was fat. All the demigods stared at her in disgust, as the sickly sweet words left Drew's mouth. She had always been a bitch, but she had never gone as far as calling someone fat.

"Drew," Leo had said sharply, jerking his head to look at her. She glared at him, and put one hand on her hip, daring him to say something. He didn't speak, only tapped something rapidly on the table - morse code - Piper realized.

Piper remembered from the Wilderness School Leo teaching her some morse code. She knew what Leo was telling her sister. Careful.

As the message was tapped out, Drew rolled her eyes and sighed, before turning to face Lou Ellen.

"Sorry," She mumbled, as if it was hard to get the apology out. But it was enough, as Drew had never, ever apologized for anything.

Despite what all the other campers thought, Drew and Leo weren't bud-buddies, or even friends. But they had each others back, for some strange reason.

They had a strange truce, but an understanding of the other none less. Because those looks and silent conversations were nothing but warnings. Telling the other when their mask, or facade was slipping.

"Nobody can be that happy all of the time," Drew had told Leo. "Your good, but your mask is cracking".

"And nobody is that much of a bitch," The mechanic had replied, looking at her seriously. "Step your game Drew, because you facade is practically transparent to me".

And that's all they were.

Allies.

A/N: I am by no means satisfied with this, but I felt I should post it anyways. The idea came to me after reading RaeEcho's, Masks. Good story by the way, be sure to check it out. This is the first story I've ever written about Drew, so please tell me how you thought it came out.

Thanks!
