Beautiful Moment

Disclaimer: The Elves belong to J.R.R Tolkien, I'm just using them in this poem. But the rest is mine. :D

Author's Note: This is my first attempt to write a poem.

As I look upon the dark night,

Stars shimmering like jewels,

The moon shines in a silvery light,

My thoughts start to drift.

Suddenly, a light shines bright,

A soft, sweet melody fills the air,

I turn around, finding myself in awe.

The moon shinning upon their gowns,

Shimmering in every direction,

Their hair flowing like silk,

Their fair skin is white as snow.

Elves! Wood Elves they are,

Passing through the forest,

Making their way to Grey Havens.

Then I thought … Should I greet them?

… Or should I not?

My heart is telling me "Let them be,

for the sight of their beauty is enough for me."

Then the melody fades and the lights dimming,

Leaving no trace of their passing,

I then look back at the starry night,

Telling myself "What a beautiful moment

This night has brought upon me."
