"Race? Are you alright?" Estella asked. She had gotten home from running a few errands to find her husband sitting on the couch, just staring ahead blankly. He didn't respond to her question, he seemed completely oblivious to the fact that she was even there. "Roger?" She sank down onto the cushion next to him.

His movements were sluggish when Race turned his head to look at her. There was a storm of emotions in his ice blue eyes and Estella knew that, whatever the mission he had just gotten home from had been, he had seen something truly terrible.

"What happened?" She asked softly though she knew it was unlikely she was going to get an answer. He almost never gave her an answer. Sometimes she wondered if it was simply because he didn't want to or because he just couldn't.

He shook his head, the blank mask threatening to slip and reveal all the emotions it was hiding. Estella wrapped an arm around his shoulders, pulling him closer. Race's movements were slow when he leaned against her, his head resting against her shoulder. He began to tremble, and - though he didn't make a sound - he began crying.

Estella just held him, running her fingers through his once blond, now mostly white, hair. There was nothing else she could do.

A/N: Yeah. This is a short one. We know Race has seen alot of stuff in his job as an I-One agent. By the time we see him in the show most of it doesn't faze him anymore. Now, this is early in Estella and Race's marriage, therefore it's also early in Race's career. I think even back then there wasn't much that would faze him like this. But there are some things that do get to him because, at the end of the day, he is still human.
