AN: Prompt number 20 - "hearts".
Don't get me wrong, I fully understand why Axel gets twitchy when people start talking about hearts. Round here, it's a pretty common topic of conversation. You see, all of us who live in Radiant Garden have been fighting against monsters called Heartless for several years now. Axel is a being known as a Nobody, and they don't have hearts. They're created from the bit that's left over when a person becomes a Heartless.
Axel used to be part of Organisation XIII, as did Roxas, but they both rebelled, joining us instead. Thing is, they are both still Nobodies, and therefore don't have hearts. To look at them, though, you wouldn't know. Sora and Roxas have been involved for about a year now, while Axel and I have been together for slightly less than that. I couldn't ask for a more considerate, caring boyfriend. "What about in bed?" Sora's asking, nosy little bugger that he is. All I'm going to say is that I have no complaints there either. So what if he likes listening to my heartbeat? I think it comforts him to know that at least one of us has genuine emotions, instead of whatever it is he can feel. If he can.
Does it bother me that he's missing something as vital as a heart? No. Not at all, because I know he loves me in whatever way he can. If he shows it with physical affection, it's because that's what makes sense, what means something, to him.
I love him, with or without a heart. Nothing is going to change my mind about that.
