A/N: My goodness! It's been so long since I last wrote fanfiction! And... uh, here is a poem for ya'll. See if you can figure out which character each verse is referring to.

.

A flash of gold means a million things,

from desperate lives to distant kings.

.

The glint of money in a jingling purse,

the lack of such in times much worse.

The glint of evil in a sorcerer's eye,

as they face the last knight's frantic war cry.

The glint of a weapon raised from a lake,

one when used makes all destiny quake.

.

To one it reminds him of times long past,

the people he lost; the ones who had passed.

But also of the one he must mentor,

Who is part of destiny's center.

It reminds him of the eyes,

and of the many, many lies.

.

To another it reminds him of destruction,

killing, hurting, maiming, seduction.

Of the one he loved so dearly,

whose face he still sees clearly.

His one horrible decision,

causing the lands division.

.

To a different one than the two,

it reminds him of what he lives through.

Of his horrible powers,

creating both destruction and flowers.

Of destiny, destiny, life, love, death,

of watching them take their last breath.

.

To the next of our list,

it reminds him of what he missed.

The betrayal of those he called family,

that which caused so much agony.

It reminds him of what he had learned,

of doubts that they should have burned.

.

For the last of these five,

it reminds her of why she's alive.

It brings power and command,

to rule her rightful land.

It shows her what she deserves,

yet frightens her to her very nerves.

.

Oh, a flash of gold gives many thoughts,

reminders of death, love, and evil plots.

.

A/N: Fin. Yay. You can't believe how long it took for me to write this. I had such a hard time trying to rhyme stuff. ...I'm so glad that I learned about slant rhymes. So... review? Share with me who you think each verse stands for, I'd like to know how obvious (or not so obvious) it is.
