Chapter 1: Unexpected

They thought it was just another harmless flu.

"Well ladies and gentlemen, it looks like that time of year again. Make sure to get your flu shots to avoid getting sick."

They never expected it to mutate.

"Recent studies have shown that the virus has indeed mutated. What we once thought as another harmless seasonal flu, has now evolved into an unknown and potentially dangerous strain of virus."

Or expect it to take a turn for the worst.

"The disease is extremely contagious and fatal. The government had ordered all public schools and facilities to be closed down until it has been delt with."

And they never thought it would end up like this.

"The infected victim is reported to be extremely aggressive and we strongly urge to avoid any and all contact with them. Being bitten or allowing infected blood, saliva, or any other bodily fluid to come into contact with an opening in your skin will result in death or reanimation. Symptoms of this disease include: vomiting, fevers, shortness of breath, and loss of movement in limbs. If you experience any of these symptoms call one of our hotlines immediately."

In a little over six months the world had changed completely.

"The disease is spreading at an alarming rate and heaalth officials fear that it will soon turn into a worldwide pandemic. The CDC has issued quarantines in the following areas: California, Nevada, Oregon..."

Chaos erupted as they all panicked. In all the confusion it just kept mutating, infecting, driving everyone further and further into insanity.

The world officially turned into a living hell.

The stench of death and decay filled the air, and the undead began to roam the streets. The population began to dwindle and survivors soon became scarce.

No one could have prepared for something like this.

Try as they may to stop it, their efforts were futile. Soon they retreated back into cover, leaving everyone to fend for themselves.

Everything seemed bleak, and hope that the nightmare would soon end seemed ridiculous at that point. All anyone could really do was try and survive against all the odds.

But at one point, everyone would lose their sanity.
