Haymitch;s POV
It was a dreary cold rainy fall afternoon when Peeta Mellark(bread-boy as I call him) comes into my house in victors village with a sack of fresh hot cheese buns. The aroma the cheese buns fills my dreams as I am napping on my floor with my knife in myleft hand. I suddenly wake up stand up. "Peeta, what brings you here to my home today?"I ask scowling. "Well, I just wanted to tell you that Prim just got home from school and told us that tonight is mandatory programming on television tonight." Says Peeta . "What does that have to do with me?" I grumble. "All of Panem has to watch,President Snow's orders. Says Peeta bluntly. "And when does this mandatory programming start"? I ask. I take a drink of cold broth."I don't know. I just thought I would tell you."Peeta says."Well goodbye Peeta" I say gently shoving him out the door.
Katniss's Pov
Oh. Man. Right now we are watching the annoucment of the third Quarter Quell. President Snow walks onto the stage. "The extra twist in the quarter quell is…because of the rebellion in the dark days the closest friend of the victors shall enter the games" announces President Snow. It takes a moment to process my thoughts. This means that Gale will be going into the arena.
Peeta's POV
My closest friend is Delly Cartwright. She knew about my love for Katniss since,well,FOREVER. We have been friends since we were born practally. Her birthday is a day after mine. A thought occurred to me….Gale Hawthorne is Katniss's closest friend,he will be going into the arena as well. I put on my rain coat and run over to the Everdeen house. Hazelle,Gale,Rory,Vick ,and little Posy were already there. Peeta, who is you closest friend"asks Katniss." Delly Cartwright" I answer. Gale looks pale while Hazelle is crying. Posy is trying to comfort her mother. I felt as if I didn't belong so I left Katniss's house and fled back home.
