The Doctor
Sherlock Holmes was five years old when he announced to his family that some day he's going to be the Doctor's companion, that he will have amazing adventures with him. Mummy just smiled, Father sighed and Mycroft tried to explain that Doctor is not real. Sherlock didn't care: he knew better. He was five after all.
Ten years later he no longer dreamt about traveling with the Doctor. He was a big boy after all. But he still tried to run as fast as he can, because you have to be really fast if you want to follow the Doctor.
After his twenty birthday he thought about adventures with the Time Lord only when he was high. He saw the blue box, and man in long coat, asking him to travel through time and space with him.
He didn't really care when the series showed up on the telly again. He was too busy to care, to pay attention. He knew they are doing it again, but he also knew that it was time for a new generation to dream of the TARDIS.
When he first met John Watson, he didn't think he was anything really special. It was after the case with the cabbie that he smiled and realized his doctor had finally shown up. He didn't have a blue box, but it didn't really matter. He had his very own doctor with whom he was going to have the most amazing adventures.
