Author's Note: Does it really need an author's note? Probs not. Review! :D (Be warned: Here there be super fluff and angstyness…) Depending on whether or not I get reviews, I'd like to continue this. betedubs, this is the nicer Tallesei will EVER be. She's a bitchy Dalish...
The dieing embers of the fire hissed as Tamlen doused them with water, the steam rising to sting Tallesei's eyes. She coughed slightly and nestled further under her cloak, the hammock swinging lightly as she shifted. He reached out with a hand as he stepped over their packs and stilled it, bending down to kiss her on her vallaslin laced forehead.
"Tallesei? Talle? I know you're awake, I can see you smiling."
"Why does it matter if I'm awake or not, you're just going to crawl into the hammock anyway…here." Tallesei rolled slightly, trying to offer Tamlen more room without actually falling out of the contraption herself. He snorted at the effort but plopped himself down, rather ungracefully for a noble dalish hunter, looping an arm around her waist and snuggling in close.
"Keeper is going to be furious with us when we slink back, you know." He whispered against the tip of her pointed ear, the way his lips brushed the sensitive skin made her shudder. She rolled onto her right side and faced him, wrapping her legs around his waist and reaching out to trace his vallaslin before kissing him softly.
"Who says we ever have to slink back, da'assan?" She whispered, smiling at him tenderly. The orange light of the fire played across her tattooed skin and illuminated her large green eyes, softening the loving expression even further.
"Marethari. She needs us, we're two of her best hunters."
"Two of the youngest, you mean." She massaged the bicep she could reach, gently in an attempt to work out the tension and soreness in the muscles there. He winced slightly before his features resolved themselves into something like bliss and he relaxed, sighing.
"You know…I only wish there was less of this-" She plucked at his tunic a little, biting her lip in mock consternation. "-I'd be able to reach more skin."
Two spots of pink appeared on Tamlen's tattooed cheeks and he cleared his throat uncomfortably. Tallesei laughed and unbuckled the breast-plate, helping him remove it. She dallied with the fringe of the under-tunic, slid one hand beneath it and ran her finger nails across his bare flesh and made his breathing hitch.
"You, asha, are trouble." He raised one hand to stroke her cheek as though it were fragile as glass, trace the bow like arch of her lips. She caught one of his fingers between her teeth and nipped the pad playfully.
"Ar lath revas sulahn tu na vhenan." She breathed against the pulse in his throat.
"Ma'arlath, da'mi" He whispered in reply, tucking the blanket closer around her shoulders. She lay her head against his chest as he rolled onto his back, the sound of rain just beginning to patter against the canvas they'd stretched over as a canopy between three trees.
"Ar lath ma uth, da'assan."
