I hate planets. I always hated planets. My whole life I lived on starships – the Eureka Maru, the Andromeda – and I never learned much about living on planets. Neither did I learn it, nor did I want to learn it.
Lying in this unfamiliar bed the only thing I can think about is this damn cold. And that I'm alone in this little house at this dark night.
I'm not able to sleep. Sleeping on my ship isn't a problem, even when the machines seem to mince. But here… I hear birds singing, the soft sounds of the little river near the house and the wind blowing through the trees. I think I can even hear ants running around the house. I'm sure a mouse stumbles over my stuff while fleeing through the room. Not knowing why it flees.
I really miss the little stars twinkling in front of my window I used to watch when sitting in the pilot's chair of my ship. There I was lonely, too. But there I liked it.
I admit that I'm a little bit frightened of this loneliness of the big dark room I lying in. Thinking. And just hoping I will not be alone forever.
My thoughts are interrupted when someone opens the door of the house. I know who it is. The only person who knows where I am.
I thought I need time to think about the things that had happened. Happened between us. But now I know I don't need time. I only need you. And you know that.
Lying beside you I press my body to yours. I love your strong arms pulling me to you, holding me close and safe. I love the affection in your voice when it whispers in my ear. I hope I will never have to miss the gentle caress of your hands on my body – and the warmth of your body. I love and I need it so much.
And I love you.
