Okay, I'm going to start writing the Holiday Episodes ahead of time, like at least a month before, cause lord knows I missed everything last year XD I now often base/ use themes off of the book series 'Stories from East High ' This one is based off the book heart to heart. To all my Sixers and new readers, I hope you enjoy this new story, 'Call me Cupid'!
One Lovely afternoon in the warm office of the Nielsen-Cross home, Kelsi Nielsen and her best friend Taylor McKessie sat at a table, parallel from each other. They were buried in paperwork and had pencils behind their ears, in a box, and in their hands along with a fair amount of pens. It was quite simple to tell they were in very deep thought. The cause? The annual Heart to Heart competition.
Taylor had a lock of her long brown/jet black hair clamped in between her lips, a sign that she was concentrating. She gently tapped her writing utensil on the table.
Kelsi however, with her hair in a bun, could not mess with her hair. So she just played with her fingers. Well, played with her fingers and chewed on chewing gum she had in her mouth.
Kelsi looked up from her daze and pointed her pen at Taylor "Wait." She said, looking at the ceiling, she turned to look at her companion. " Lightbulb."
"Proceed." Taylor gave a brief yet elegant nod.
"What if this year, we opened the student body to various events in contrast to one?" She asked
Taylor gave Kelsi one of her 5 star smiles "Brilliant! That's an excellent idea!" She high fives her. They went back in deep thought once more, this time interrupted.
Their friend Gabriella Montez flew into the room ecstatically, sending papers flying with a grin plastered on her face. The other two teens scrambled to retrieve them before they hit the ground.
"I am so EXITED!" The teen squealed
"Gabriel-LA!" The girls exclaimed
"Can you please be more cautious?" Taylor asked
"Yeah, we're kind of busy. Extremely busy." Kelsi added
"I'm sorry guys, but I just can't help it!" She leaned against the wall and placed the back of her hand on her forehead "Valentines day is a few weeks away, and everyone knows February is the month of love! And you know I'm all about the LOOOOOVE!" Gabi spun around. She screamed as she tripped over her own foot. Taylor and Kelsi held out their hands and caught her.
They sighed "We know." The two said in perfect harmony with small smiles. Gabriella giggled and stood.
"And everyone knows that Valentine's Day is only the best holiday EVER!" She gasped in pure delight.
"Uh, I beg to differ." Kelsi said as she placed the scattered pencils back in the canister.
"Yes, I would have to resent that statement as well." Taylor sighed, picking papers up from the floor.
"That's because you're always so obsessed with that simple Heart to Heart competition!" She giggled
The girls looked at her.
"You mean the simple Heart to Heart competition that raises money for a good cause?" Taylor asked
"And the simple Heart to Heart competition that drives everyone nearly mentally insane each year?" Kelsi added
"And the simple Heart to Heart competition that always has everyone insanely occupied each year?" Taylor added
"And the simple Heart to-"
"Okay I get it!" Gabriella sighed with mock boredom "It's not just a simple competition. You guys work hard, you'll get it."
"Yeah we'll get it!" Kelsi exclaimed as the girls eyes lit up, she grabbed a large roll of poster paper.
"Everyone knows this is The Year Of East!" Taylor held her hands out to the bottom of the poster that Kelsi swiftly unrolled. It was decorated with red and gold followed by printed logos and photos of the school's greatest moment, the pure definition of school spirit. Kelsi hung it up by a small hook on the ceiling so she and Taylor could admire it. The ran to Gabriella's side. They gasped and sighed with adoration.
"Isn't it absolutely magnificent!?" Taylor sighed with wonder
"Simply amazing!" Kelsi smiled
"Fabulous!" Taylor beamed
"The Year Of East?" Gabriella questioned
"But of course!" Taylor motioned her hands to it "We obviously dominated the district last year,"
"So this year we're making a statement!" Kelsi exclaimed, unhooking the poster and tucking it in her bag
Gabriella was still however, perplexed "Okay..." She said. The girls sighed.
"Come on." Kelsi rolled her eyes playfully "Let's head over to meet the gang." She smiled and motioned her head. They stepped outside to her motorcycle. Gabriella hopped in the side cart and put her helmet on. Taylor flipped her hair from her shoulders and followed, getting behind Kelsi. Kelsi drove off at full speed.
"Wheeeeee!" Gabriella squealed with her hands in the air. Taylor laughed.
"So what are you looking forward to this Valentines?" Kelsi asked
"I can't wait to see what Troy got me!" Gabriella beamed
"Who cares what he got you?" Taylor looked at her
"Gosh Tay, Elsa much?" Kelsi smirked, looking over her shoulder.
"Though Idina Menzel is one of the reasons why I still bother with that movie, I'd have to say yes. I'm not really into all this love stuff." Taylor said
"Yeah, that's true. Still, we should still look forward to the holiday!" Kelsi beamed
"Yeah." Taylor agreed
"...I just hope we win..."
"SH! NO NEGATIVITY!"
They pulled into the school parking lot and rushed to the gym door. They knocked, Chad answered the door.
"Hi girls." He smiled
"How's practice?" Kelsi smiled
Chad inhaled "Busy." He chuckled
"Ugh! Us too!" Kelsi slumped
"But then Valentines will be over, and we can pretend like noooooone of this ever happened. At least till next year anyway." He said, the three sighed dreamily. Gabriella opened her mouth to speak but was cut off by Kelsi pulling her inside. Leaving Chad and Taylor.
"Taylor." Chad acknowledged.
"Chad." She replied. They walked to their spots, they blushed.
"Ugh! You're doing it wrong!" Ryan exclaimed to his twin Sharpay "It's shimmy to the left, shimmy to the right, heart sign, then snap and clap!"
"NO it's heart sign, shimmy to the left, shimmy to the right, snap and clap!" She protested
Ryan motioned his hands to himself "But I choreographed it."
"So?" She shrugged, filing her nails.
Ryan sauntered to the wall and slowly banged his head on it multiple times. "I can't wait till Valentines is over."
"Hey that's what Chad just said." Kelsi grinned from the bleachers, pointing to her right at the basketball team.
Ryan and Sharpay looked across the room. Ryan walked over "For real though right?" He said
"Right!" Chad high fived him
"Honestly, with us being so busy every year, I've lost my valentine spirit." Sharpay slumped
"YOU had Valentine's Day spirit?" Chad smirked
Sharpay immediately looked to him "Stick a sock in it." She shook her head
"Come on you guys! There was once a time when everyone had valentine spirit! Including Taylor!" Troy said
Taylor's head snapped up from her notebook "Huh?! Oh, sorry...I was..." She awkwardly tapped her fingers on the book "Kind of busy..."
"Exactly!" Everyone said in unison. Taylor's brown eyes widened in question. Kelsi gently placed a hand on her knee.
"Don't worry about it." She nodded
"Okay." Taylor said
"Anyway, the entire holiday has just become one big tournament! That's why the spirits gone!" Kelsi exclaimed
"Yeah!" Troy agreed
"You know what?" Ryan walked back to the drama teams side of the gym and started packing the equipment "I say we just skip it all." Each object went in one by one "Skip the competition, Skip Valentine's Day, Skip all of it."
Sharpay took the CD player from him "If only."
"We can't skip it. It's mandatory to our grades." Kelsi sighed "I just hope we win..."
Taylor threw her hands in the air "Oh my gosh! Why do you do that!? WHY YOU GOTTA PUT ALL THAT NEGATIVITY IN THE AIR?!"
"Oops?" Kelsi shrugged slowly
"Well," Troy shrugged "Point is, we all hate this holiday. Agreed?"
"Agreed."
Gabriella then stood from her spot on the bleachers "You guys what do you mean you hate Valentine's Day? What kind of Scrooge hates Valentine's Day?"
"That's right." Ryan leant over to Sharpay "We just messed with cupid's apprentice."
Sharpay groaned and rolled her eyes "Ship."
"We just do Ella" Taylor sighed
"But why!?" Gabriella asked with a puppy face
"Heart to Heart ruined it." Jason shrugged sadly, the guys pat him on the back
"Besides, who needs it? I mean, Valentine's day IS for losers now right?" Martha asked, who was in the back practicing with her new cheer squad friends.
"That saying was made by an ignorant student who was too overwhelmed by H2H." Troy said, everyone's narrowed eyes turned to Natalie, who was at the top of the pyramid.
"What?!" she exclaimed "I could have broken a nail squeezing that cupcake frosting tube!"
"Whatever." Zeke rolled his eyes
"Troy?" Gabriella asked panicked
"I'm out too Ella..." He shrugged
"But still!" Gabriella pushed more "There will still be lots of things to do after school to celebrate! There's a new movie coming out?"
"We'll be too busy planning for Heart to Heart." Martha sat down on the opposite bleacher with her chin in her hand.
"There's the Swan Ballet premiering downtown?" she tried
"We have a shipment of pins for H2H coming in the same time, so we'll be busy." Ryan sighed
"We're too busy for Valentine's Day." Jason groaned
"Well..."Gabriella began desperately "Zekes' always in the mood for one of his tasty yummy loving bake sessions?" Gabriella added hopefully
"I can't Gabriel, I'll be too busy making them for Heart to Heart, I won't have time to make extras." Zeke shrugged
"Besides, even if he weren't , he wouldn't have time period because we're too busy." Sharpay added
"Board Games?"
"Busy."
"Campouts?"
"Busy."
"Picnics?!"
"Busy."
"CARDS OF LOVE AND GOOD WILL?!"
All met by one, zombified; "Busy."
Gabi stuttered "But how about-!"
The group all sent her one shrill glare "Gabriella! WE'RE TOO BUSY FOR VALENTINE'S DAY!"
With that Gabriella got up with a huff, and left the gym! As she walked down the deserted hallway of East High, a thought hit her; so they're too busy for Valentines day eh? Well then she would MAKE THEM unbusy! Gabriella grinned evilly.
EVEN if it meant bringing down 'The YEAR. Of. EAST!'
