Farewell My Love

She is cold all the time now. Her eyes are lifeless, they show no
emotion. She has lost her usual cheerfulness, for she has witnessed too
much sorrow for such a young age. I fear that she will never smile again.
But the battle is over, and the jewel now complete. I am sending her back
through the well, and immediately sealing it afterward. Hopefully, she will
forget this poignant ordeal. She will be greatly missed, but it is for the
sake of her happiness. Tomorrow, her soul will be discharged of this burden
which she has had to carry for so long a time, in hopes that she moves on
with her life. She will get through her "school" and the joy she once held
inside her will resurface. Eventually she will meet a man that she falls
deeply in love with. Then she will flash him one of her beautiful smiles
that will make his heart flutter as it had mine on many an occasion. In
time, she will have forgotten our existence, and we will become figments of
her imagination, a young woman's childish daydreams. As for me, she will
always be remembered as my first and only true love, and she will stay
vivid in my mind until the day I am lifted from this once blood-stained
soil into the heavens above, where our souls I pray shall meet again. I
don't want to push her away, I would much rather hold her in my arms
forever. But that would not be fair to her. Here she would live only a half-
life, and would wander the Earth as a dead Kikyo once did. It brings back
to many reminiscences of death and despair. As the old saying goes, "If you
love something, set it free". As you depart from this era, from my life
forever, to know that I will never again be flashed one of your radiant
smiles, and your angelic voice shall nevermore fall upon my ears. And so I
say to you, "Farewell, my love."
