Twilight awoke from her slumber to the smell of smoke, not the dangerous kind, though, the pleasant kind, that goes hoof and hoof with breakfast. Twilight roused herself and stumbled off the large bed she had been provided by Princess Celestia, after her old home had been destroyed by Tirek. She glanced at the nightside table, the clock read, 7: 35. Next to it was a large leather-bound book, the one that Sunset Shimmer had contacted her with when the Dazzling had invaded the human world, "I've got to find out what that place is called…" Twilight thought to herself. Pushing that thought to the side, she exited her spacious room, and trotted down to the kitchen, to see her surrogate brother, Spike, making some pancakes. She silently watched as he expertly flipped the batter in his frying pan, the one Twilight had custom ordered to better allow the dragon to assist in breakfast making, as his physiology sometimes meant he couldn't perform to the best of his ability with the tools provided.
"Morning spike!" She called, startling the young dragon, lucky, he didn't belch fire and ruin the stack of pancakes he had already made, along with the rest of the kitchen. he whipped around to find his sister, standing in the doorway, smiling at him, "oh! Hey Twilight, ya hungry?" He put on a goofy look, as he knew she was. Twilight chuckled at his antics, and noded, "want some help?" She asked the baby dragon, who had turned back to the food he was preparing, "nope, i've got it covered." he answered, she sighed, and wandered around the castle, waiting for Spike to finish making breakfast.
She made her way to the library, where she spotted a book that seemed out of place, it was a brown leather book that had a very edgy look to it, very little curve to the spine, or the pages. "what in the name of Equestria is this book doing here? this doesn't seem quite right…" She thought to herself, there was no title, "this book is really strange…" Twilight thought as she opened the book, it was a spell book. the first spell was in a strange language, trying to understand she read out loud: "z ziemi poza, do krainy w pobliżu, i nazwać bohatera, który może walczyć po mojej stronie, i być moim opiekunem, moja moc i mojego przyjaciela, chodź do mnie topornie wojownika" The walls of the castle began to shake, the books in the massive library fell to the floor, along with some of the shelves, a blinding light flashed eight times before dimming, but as a ball of light levitating several ponytails above the floor. Twilight instinctively took a step back, as the ball descended to the ground, earning a blocky look as it fell. Twilight gasped as, deep in the light, she saw a shadow of something appear, the light faded and a creature Twilight had never seen was laying among the books and clutter on the floor. The creature had four 'legs' if you could call them that, the legs positioned at the top of the torso had five… claws? Twilight was stunned at the fact that an unknown creature was in her castle, she clapped her hooves together giddily as the prospect of discovering a new creature thrilled her. she finally calmed down and examined the rest of the creature…
Spike was setting the large stack of pancakes, 26 in all, on the table in the dining hall when the castle began to shake, He dashed out of the room, the meal he had just cooked forgotten, he raced down the hallways until he found a guard. Ever since the Castle had been declared Twilight's, Celestia and Luna had assigned small portions of their guards to act as Twilight's. Spike raced up to the brown unicorn guard, "have you seen the princess?" he practically demanded the guard. he thought for a second before answering the dragon, "yes, she went of the the library. do you require assistance, sir Spike?" the guard replied. Spike nodded, and hopped on the guards back. The guard ran towards the Library.
Spike and the Guard- Silver Seed, arrived at the Library. Silver practically broke down the door as they charged in, only to stop in their tracks as they saw the creature Twilight was examining. "what in Equestria?" Spike and Silver Seed exclaimed simultaneously.
Twilight was examining the Creature, she noticed it was very tall compared to herself, Possibly as tall as Celestia, minus the Horn, of course. " So it has four limbs, ten claws, maybe bipedal, has a brown coat….She muttered to herself, as the door behind her burst open, however she hardly noticed, what she did notice was the sound of her brother's voice, along with somepony else's say, "what in Equestria?" Twilight wheeled around to find her brother sitting on the back of a unicorn guard. "oh! Hi Spike! how`breakfast coming along?" She asked, not trying to hide her excitement, her wings stood on end, and she had the face of a filly on Hearth's warming eve. "Twilight? What is that?" Spike demanded, point one of his pancake batter covered claws at the thing behind Twilight, to which she responded, "I have no idea! It could be a brand new species!"
"Um, your Highness? The creature appears to be bleeding…" Silver interjected. Twilight gasped and looked over the creature, finding a large gash on the right fore-limb she hadn't noticed before. "Oh no! we need to get it to Fluttershy, right away!" She exclaimed.
A few minutes later, Silver and an earth pony loaded the Princess, Spike, and the creature onto a wheeled chariot, and ran through town, headed for Fluttershy's cottage and animal clinic. They arrived only in only a few short minutes, and Twilight galoped to the door, pounding on it. Fluttershy answered a couple seconds later, looking tired, "Twilight? um… what are you doing here? you can't be here for the weekly meetup, it's too early...right?" Twilight stepped to the side to reveal to fluttershy, the chariot, the two guards who were supporting the unconscious creature. Fluttershy gasped, and ran towards the wounded animal. she took the creature from the guards and took it inside. Twilight relieved the two guards of duty, telling them to go home for the day, however, Silver stuck around.
Fluttershy laid the creature on her couch and patched it up, she sewed up the bleeding limb, cleaned up the blood from the body, and had a thorough analysis on the physiology of the creature. She then she trotted over to Twilight, Spike and Silver. "well, from what i can tell, it's male, and has a concussion, among numerous other injuries, he should be glad you brought him to me when you did…. where did you find him? if you don't mind me asking that is…" Fluttershy said to the trio. Twilight sighed, then proceeded to tell everypony how she came accross the creature.
