DISCLAIMER: If you haven't guessed already, I am not Butch Hartman and I do not own anything but the plot here. I hope people are enjoying it! :)
Edit 18/10/15 - Chapters 1-7 are some of my first writing on the site, and are of poor quality compared to some of my more recent works. Chapters 8+ are much more recent and better written.

"Danny, outta the way! We got a ghost!" Danny looked around just in time to get a large, green, ectoplasmic ball in his face./p
"Or... not, Dad." Danny glared at him from the side of the lab, dripping in goo.
Jack stared. "Oops, sorry, son. The Non-Phantom Fenton Blaster is still a prototype!" Danny stared at him, unamused, with little flecks of green in his hair. "Give me a second." Then he fazed through the wall./p
Jack shivered. "I'll never get used to that."/p
"Jack, dearie?" Maddie's voice came from above. "Did you get Danny with the Blaster again?"/p
Jack groaned. "Oh, it was an accident!" He set the gun down on the side and swiftly made his way to the stairs, forgetting, not for the first time, that the portal was open again./p
Technus stuck his head through. "Well well well, if it isn't the Fenton Works again. Last time I was here, I was controlling it in my plans for dominion of the world!" He came through completely. "I mean, he owes me for the Disasteroid, so surely he wouldn't mind me taking a thing or two..." Technus spotted the Fenton's latest invention. "This is just the thing! It's techy, dangerous looking and really far out! And... and this one too! And this, and this! With these weapons and a battle suit I'm sure I can find somewhere, Technus 3.0 will surely rule the world!" With that, he looked around. "I hope nobody heard that."/p
"Just in time for school," Danny groaned, picking the last few flecks from his hair. Dirt, bruises, milk and just about anything came off after a quick intangible session, but anything remotely ectoplasmic did not. Probably the reason why he hated school food fights./p
"Well, I'm missing the bus, but through the air is always an option." Danny shook it out a final time before transforming into a phantom and levitating in the air. "I'm off to school!" He shouted, grabbing his bag./p
"How do you plan to- oh yeah." Maddie sighed. "I'll never get used to that."

Out in the air, Danny Phantom looked over Amity Park. There was the Nasty Burger, the Town Hall with the statue of him holding the Earth, even the school bus driving along. It was so peaceful, for once./p

"I AM THE BOX GHOST!" Danny used his icy ghost rays from his eyes to freeze him mid air, then sucked him into the Fenton Thermos.

"I don't have time for you!" He continues flying, and finally stopped behind the school. Then he transformed again, and entered through the back route./p

Sometimes Danny wondered how Dash would react if he knew that he bullied the world's most famous ghost hero. Certainly much better than he did now.

"Come over here, Fen-TURD!" Dash stalked over to him as he closed his locker. "I just got an F on my spelling test, AGAIN! And I'm taking it out on you!"

"Wow, record low, even for you, Dash," Danny mutters to himself as he takes off towards the sports hall, with Dash in close pursuit. By now, it's probably too close for Danny to use his ghost powers. Unless...

"Hey, Dash!" Valerie steps right in front of Dash, and Danny transforms behind her and flies off. "Have you seen the Ghost Boy anywhere?"

Dash skids to a halt. "Uhh... sorry, Valerie, but I need to catch that loser Danny and take out all my anger on him. Can we schedule another time?"

"Yeah, you go get him, Dash!" Valerie sneaks past him with a meaningful grin at the intangible boy in the wall next to her, and leaves Dash to stare dumbly around the sports hall, looking for Danny while Danny himself was settling down for class.

"Hey, Sam," Danny leaned over. "Have I got anything green in my hair? Dad is trying out his Phantom-Proof stuff again."

Sam picks something off his shoulder with a smile. She's still wearing the Fenton Headphones. "I think you got it."

"Everyone please pay attention!" Mr. Lancer raps his ruler on the desk, unaware that below it is a rather charming photo of him cheering at a computer screen. The class sniggers.

Danny stares out of the window, where his statue, or as everyone else thinks, the statue of Danny Phantom stands. Are his cheeks really that chubby?

"Fenton, I know how extremely interesting and historical the statue of Danny Phantom is, but you're in the wrong time period. Page 724, Chapter 5. The Civil War and its effects on England." When it was decided for the best to tell Lancer his secret, Danny secretly hoped he'd be more lenient. Sure, when Danny needed to go to the toilet, his requests were never denied, but apart from that he still had to take stupid tests and stay after school and all that. Ugh.

"Danny shivered and felt his ghost sense go off. Speaking of needing to go to the toilet...

"Mr. Lancer?" He faked a sneeze. "Please may I go to the nurse?"

"I'll take him!" Sam and Tucker stood up abruptly, and Lancer nodded them off.

"I wonder who will be next," Danny transforms, grabs Tucker and Sam, and flies them to the roof.

"I am Technus, master of technology and the most hip and far out ghost you will probably meet!"

"What's on the menu today?" Danny floats with his arms crossed, looking fairly bored. "Infiltrating the internet or our RV? Researching 'hip' new catchphrases?"

"As I have already told you, Technus 2.0 does not reveal his secrets, and neither will Technus 3.0!"

"Technus 3.0?" Danny puts his fingers to his chin while Technus pouts a little.

"Shut up, ghost child! I am the master of technology, not your little pushover Box Ghost!"

"Why does this feel so familiar? Oh yeah, beating you. I remember now." Danny shoots a ghost ray from his eyes, which hits Technus and sends him crashing into the building. However, he gets up quickly.

" Insolent young child! Feel the wrath of... uh... this shooty thingy!" Technus brandishes his new weapon. "In human hands, this would never work. In my hands, it will work perfectly!" He takes aim. "Say goodbye, Ghost Child!"

"The ectoplasma fired from the gun passes straight through Danny. He laughs. "Wow, you really can make the Non-Phantom Fenton Blaster Work! Next time, you can do my homework for me. In the meantime, Sam?"

Sam tosses him a Fenton Thermos. "Let's wrap this up."

Danny spins the Fenton Thermos around in his hand before blasting Technus into it. "Ghost hunting at its easiest." He floated down to the ground and transformed back.

"That could have gone so badly, Danny!" Sam hugged him, and kissed him on the cheek, making him blush. "What if it hadn't been that gun? You never know what stuff you find in that lab."

Danny shrugged. "You guys would have jumped in, or my Dad, or anybody really. There's a rhythm to these things."

Tucker raises his hand. "The last time you said that, Vlad nearly got you killed."

"Shut up, Tuck."

Inside the Fenton Thermos, Technus shifted, trying to become as comfortable as possible in such a tiny space, shared with the only ghost Technus liked less than human emotions.

"I AM THE BOX GHOST!"

"Will you be quiet! I am trying to think of a plan B for world dominion, as well as regaining some dignity. How was I, Technus, supposed to know that Danny's father is constructing blasters which ignore the Ghost Child?"

"We should work TOGETHER!" The Box Ghost wailed. "You are the GHOST of ELECTRONIC BOXES, and I, I AM THE-"
"Young whippersnapper! Will you be quiet!" Technus fired a tiny beam at the Box Ghost, which spooked him slightly. "You can USE your powers in this thing?"
Technus stared at his hands. "All this time and I never realised we still have our powers in these thingies?"
"Cylindrical boxes of DOOM!" The Box Ghost suggested.
"That means..." Technus placed his hands on the inside, and fazed through.
The Box Ghost scratched his head. "Where'd he go?"
"I am no longer within the confines of this technology, I am IN IT!" The voice of Technus sounded inside. The inside changed from green to red. "This is no Fenton Thermos! This is the Techno-Thermos, and it's the perfect way for me to gain world dominion! Muahahaha!"
"And by the way, I am the ghost of TECHNOLOGY, not electronic BOXES!"
Danny groaned when he got back home. "Dad, you've left the portal open again." He watched Jack come downstairs.
"Arghhh! Did you have to fight some ghosts again?" Jack took the Fenton Thermos, stuck it in the hold, and closed the portal, not seeing it swirl red for a moment before the doors shut.
"Yeah, Technus." Danny didn't want to mention how he was defeated. It might make his Dad feel bad. "But he's gone now."
"Hey, Danny, I need you to try something out." Jack led him upstairs, forgetting the Thermos was still by the portal.
"What is it, Dad?" Danny groans as he sees Jack whip out a very familiar belt. "I'm not trying that on..."
"It's no longer the Spectre Deflector!" Jack puts it on himself. "It's the emNon-Phantom/em Spectre Deflector! Come on, try it!" He held out a hand.
Danny took it with considerable caution. Just as he expected, the belt still fired up and shot him. "Hmmm, maybe all I need to do is give it more power!" He turned to a blackened Danny slouched on the side of the fridge. "Anyway, thanks for all the help, son!"
