"Sebastian!" Ciel screamed out his butlers name just in time. Sebastian scooped him up, dodging the bullet that was meant for Ciel, and landed gracefully behind the offender. He set Ciel down, ran up to the man just as he was turning, and disarmed him, all in one fluid motion. "Sebastian! I order you NOT to kill him!" Sebastian had been aiming his butter knives threateningly, but he immediately "sheathed" them and moved to Ciel's side again. They watched as he fled, his cap fell off in his rush, but he didn't pause at all to retrieve it. Ciel looked up at his demon butler; Sebastian had that pouting look on his face, red eyes narrowed and fixed on the man hungrily. Ciel laughed out loud, and Sebastian looked down surprised.
"Might I ask what you find so entertaining, young master?" he cocked his head, a patient, but slightly annoyed expression settling in. Ciel looked at him, and starting laughing again, he paused to respond that,
"You had that look again, the one that is like a predator who's been cheated of his prey." He giggled again and Sebastian frowned, looking more than slightly annoyed now. That expression melted away though almost as soon as it had appeared, and he calmly waited for his master to recompose himself. Ciel smiled, red eye and contract eye glinting mischievously. His look became serious again soon though, and he ordered Sebastian to carry him back home. Sebastian obliged, sullen as usual in everything he did. The only time he ever seemed to enjoy himself was when he was fighting, but even that seemed to bore him now. Ciel sighed, exasperated with his servant. Sebastian responded to it with the usual bland concern,
"Is something bothering you, young master?" Ciel just ignored him, and pondered on what might make Sebastian happy. Well, being free obviously, but that would never happen. So, what? Ciel thought about it all the way home, which actually was only about five minutes. When Sebastian was dressing him for bed that night, Ciel posed a question to him.
"Sebastian?"
"Yes?"
"What do you love most?" Sebastian blinked, but quickly regained composure. He was getting awfully good at that and it annoyed Ciel for some reason. Sebastian continued to button Ciel's shirt and answered,
"I don't know what you mean by that, young master." Ciel let him brush aside his hair and remove the eye-patch.
"I mean what are you faithful to?" Sebastian looked him straight and answered with slight amusement,
"Why, you of course, young master. Who else?" the last sentence was almost depressed sounding. Ciel smirked, satisfied with the answer, for now.
"Is that all, young master?" Ciel nodded, pulling his legs under the covers, although he didn't need them. That was part of being a demon, but it seemed odd to not use any kind of sheet. Sebastian left, blowing out the candle stick in his hand, just like he always did. In the dark, Ciel smiled. Sebastian, always the same, always obedient, always his butler. Yes, Sebastian would be his for all eternity.
