Whenever she looked at that picture, she couldn't help but be reminded of her father.

Not really in the good way, either. Taiyang was a good man, no, a great man, but it had nothing to do with that. Instead, Yang found yet another likeness between them. Raven, Mercury- they were similar. Raven left after Yang was born, Mercury left after Scarlett was born. 'That's just Xiao Long destiny!' She joked, to all of her friends, when on the inside it hurt. It hurt because she knew it was true. Xiao Long children were just destined to grow up with only one parent, weren't they? That's certainly what it seemed like. Ruby wasn't technically a Xiao Long, but she was raised without a mother, just like her big sister.

It's gonna rain soon. She should head home. But... She can't bring herself to do it. Scarlett would be fine with Ruby and Weiss for a good while, so Yang didn't have to worry about that. The blonde looked up to the sky, just as a raindrop fell onto her nose. She frowned, wiped it off, and looked back down to the picture. Should she just let it float out of her hands, drift down into the water below? With her left hand, she gripped the bridge's railing, and squeezed her eyes shut.

"Yang."

Yang turned. "Merc?" She croaked, voice weak, and high pitched. But no one was there. Just a figment of her imagination. Like she wished he was to begin with. She turned back around, and looked down at the cold, rushing water below. Her grip loosened, but not on the bridge. She closed her eyes yet again; she couldn't bear to watch the photograph drift away. The only picture she had of them together.
