Minerva watched as owls flew in, the hall a flurry of wings. A small smile tugged on her lips.
It was always exciting to open every letter, wondering if the child had accepted or declined the offer to go to Hogwarts. She loved sliding her special letter opener, the one engraved with cat whiskers, under the flap—using her wand to do that would take away the excitement, wouldn't it?
Minerva pulled out her letter opener and slid it under the flap, sighing in contentment at the sound of the paper crinkling open, surrendering to the letter opener. Perfect.
She observed Hagrid's messy scrawl, unable to hold back a chuckle. Wait—Harry Potter was coming to Hogwarts!
Life couldn't be better.
Of course, Minerva didn't know the trouble Harry Potter would bring with him.
