The Two Paths

Disclaimer: I do not own Haikyuu!.

This road begins with two separate and very different paths.

One was straight and easy to navigate and the other was littered with thorns, rocky, and was barely there. Yet both paths led to a forest with trees as tall as sky and impossible to pass through on foot. And beyond it laid glory.

The boy who was following the easy path was a prince and later a king. With dark hair and sharp eyes he started off the trail with enthusiasm and was followed by many subjects.

The boy who walked on the trail with thorns and rocks had bright orange hair and eyes just as bright. He had invisible wings that no one, not even the boy himself knew about or could even see. There was no one who would follow him and he started off on the path alone.

And the two very different boys set off on opposite paths walking towards the glory at the end.

There was a moment when the two paths intersected. The boy with the invisible wings met the king on his high throne. They fought for the right to continue on their path, and no matter how hard the orange-haired boy fought, he could not win against the king and his subjects.

So he falls down, and the king continues on his way. Though it was unknown to anyone else, only the great king had seen the boy's invisible wings.

The fallen boy began to pick himself up and continues to walk on his path, far behind the king. Yet, he was determined to catch up to the other boy.

Awhile later, the boy finds himself facing a block on his path. And right there next to him was the king, all alone, and facing the forest that stood before them.

The king had become a tyrant. And one by one, his subjects left. Each of them took a different path until they left their deserted king to walk on his trail alone.

And somehow the easy path and path littered with thorns had combined into one road leading through the forest.

At first the two refused to work together, but they realized that they couldn't cross the forest alone.

Together they found a group of boys with broken dreams and wings stuck outside of the forest with no way to go through.

They formed a band with the other boys and they ventured through the forest. And through it, the boy who used to be king remembered how to work with the people he ruled and the orange-haired boy learned the he had wings he never knew about.

But, still the group of boys could not make their way through the forest and was forced out to where they started. They had realized their mistakes and now it had made them even stronger than before.

Now they had a different plan. The boy who was king showed the boys with the broken wings how to fly again. And it was the boy with orange hair that flew the highest of them all. "Together," they think,"we will fly over the forest together."

Now, the boy who was a king and walked the easy road and the boy with wings and walked the road of rocks are standing together. The boy who started high on a throne and the one who walked on the ground are at the same level.

It is now that they will truly soar through the sky and towards the glory at the end of the road.

I first watched Haikyuu! because I was suffering from Kuroko no Basuke withdrawal and I found it to be extremely entertaining. This is my tribute to it and how I view the show. Leave a review if you liked it.
