"Regina." Killian stood at the doorway of her bedroom. She stood staring out the window, her figure outlined by the moonlight.
"Captain. I didn't know you were back." Her tone was cold, and she made no move to turn.
The pirate didn't let her stoic facade affect him. "I'm sorry about your mother. I can't imagine what that must have been like."
"No, you can't. No one can." Regina was still for a minute. Killian waited silently, hoping that she would open up more.
Luckily for him, she did. "I returned her heart to her. And for once, she truly loved me. She said that I would have been enough..."
Regina's voice caught and it was all Killian could do not to pull her into his arms. She was clearly fighting tears, but he knew she would not appreciate the gesture yet. She was fighting too hard to remain the Evil Queen. She finally turned and studied his face. He couldn't help but notice how beautiful the former queen was, even now. She crossed the room to stand in front of him, but her walk lacked the usual confidence.
Regina grabbed his hook and it glowed briefly. Killian recognized the enchantment she had put on it and he understood exactly what she was about to ask of him.
"Take my heart from me. I don't want to feel anymore." Regina whispered as she placed his hook above her heart. The tears in her eyes glistened in the moonlight.
"Yes, you do." Killian pulled her face closer to his and kissed her passionately. She held back for a moment, before giving in. She ran her fingers through his hair and led him backwards to her bed.
He nimbly unbuttoned her shirt as he pushed her onto the bed. She slipped the shirt off and quickly pulled his off as well. Killian pulled his pants off and threw them behind him as she watched. Her pants met the same fate. Killian crushed his lips to hers again a moment later. He could taste the salt from her tears and he pulled back to study her face. He brushed away the tears.
"I am truly sorry, love." He said.
Regina shook her head, unwilling think about the painful reminder that she had no one left. She laced her fingers in his dark hair and pulled his lips to hers again. "Don't stop, Killian."
"Your wish is my command, m'lady." The pirate said before pressing his lips to the soft skin of her neck. He bit down, enjoying the gasp that escaped her red lips. He wouldn't allow her to stop feeling, but at least he could help her forget for awhile.
