A/N- Not mine. I'm not a genius- that would be JKR. This is only the second sonnet I've ever written (and the first I'm happy with), so suggestions are most welcome. Oh, and in case you're wondering the title comes from a line that Dumbledore says in King's Cross
Of House-Elves and Children's Stories
You are the weaker, and I pity you
Agape, goodness lost by loveless birth
My nature made of what you never knew
Common, weak, and lowly hold hidden worth
With a flash of lightning, a flash of green
A lily wilted and you were undone
My protection of love you planned to glean
A hope, a flaw, the second war begun
What did you hope to gain, your soul destroyed?
Take heed, a soulless life is worse than death
Transfigured huge potential to a void
Remorse will cause or spare your final breath
Neither can live while the other survives
Turn 'round; the power you know not arrives
