Description: Every shinobi has scars. You can't avoid them. Although some aren't visible to the human eye. Drabble.
Also, this story takes place before Naruto liked Sakura.
Scars
Naruto could remember it clearly. Almost as if it had been yesterday, but the fact is it was eight long years ago. The memories were so vibrant that he could still feel it sometimes. The way his shoulder had stung. The way she had smiled widely with triumph. And the cruel irony.
They were all seven years old, barely using any techniques at all. Iruka-sensei had thought it would be a fantastic idea to have a practice tournament, to see how their ninja skills had been developing.
Oh, how he thought wrong.
The tournament lasted all day. Whoever won the tornament had no homework that night. If a student won their first match they would face anther winner from a different match. This pattern continued until the second match of the semi-finals. Sasuke had easily won the first match of the semis against Shikamaru, and would be in the finals. The second match of the semi-finals was what Naruto remembered the most. The match where he was up against Sakura.
"I will win!" Naruto mumbled to himself getting up from the ground in the process. 'Sakura punches pretty hard' he thought to himself.
"No, you won't, Naruto." Apparently Sakura had heard him.
"Yes, I will!"
Naruto grabbed the nearest rock and ran as fast as he could towards the kunoichi-in-training, dodging a punch to the head in the process. With all of his strength he jabbed the sharpest end of the rock into Sakura's left leg, causing her to scream out in pain as she fell.
"Look who's on the ground now, Forehead girl." Naruto grinned. 'Finally I'm winning!'
"NARUTO, YOU'RE GOING DOWN!"
Naruto covered his ears. Who knew that a girl that small could scream that loud.
"Ow….my….ears…." That was all he could murmur out before Sakura leaped up from behind him and sunk her teeth into his shoulder. Naruto began thrashing his fists around trying in vain to hit the girl. This continued until Naruto burst out in tears because his shoulder was gushing out blood.
After that, he couldn't remember much. Sakura went to the finals as she wasn't bleeding as much as Naruto. Sasuke won the tournament. No big surprises there.
The only surprise was when Sasuke came home that night. He was overjoyed because there was no homework for him that night and Itachi didn't have another mission for three days. That meant that Sasuke could try to get him to teach him a new technique.
However, when he got home, there was no happiness. Not even any training.
That was the night of the Uchiha massacre.
Each member of Team Seven was scarred that day. Sakura has one on her left leg. Naruto has one on his shoulder. Sasuke's scar isn't visible, but it is more painful to remember.
