Don't Take The Girl

John was getting ready to go fishing with his dad and Maria walked up to the house with her fishing pole.

"Dad she's not coming is she" John asked.

"You're mom asked her if she wanted to come she's here now we can't leave her behind and son I know you don't won't her to go but one day you'll change your mind" John's dad said.

"Daddy why can't we take my friends I don't want a girl to come with us daddy please, don't take the girl" John said.

Ten years later John and Maria were on the way to the pictures and a man came up to them with a gun and grabbed Maria.

"Give me all your money" the man said.

"Here's my Wallet, car key's you can have everything you want but please don't take the girl" John said.

Five years later John and Maria were getting ready to have a baby.

"It's time to go the baby's coming" Maria said.

"Ok baby" John said.

When they got to the hospital they went into the delivery room and a couple of hours later just after Maria had giving birth she blanked out.

"Maria" John screamed.

"John I'm sorry but you've got to wait outside you wife's gone into a coma the baby's fine when she was having him she lost a lot of blood" the doctor said.

Then John hit his knees.

"Please god don't take her away from me and our son we need her, take me instead please don't take the girl" John said.

Eight years later John and Maria were taking Johnny fishing and a little girl came through the front gate and John and Maria laughed.

"Daddy does she have to come" Johnny said.

"She does if I hadn't let your mommy come you wouldn't be here now" John said.

"Ok daddy" Johnny said.

Johnny's daddy was taking him fishin'
He was eight years old.
Little girl came through the front gate
holdin' a fishin' pole.
His dad looked down and smiled,
said, We can't leave her behind
Son, I know you don't want her to go,

And Johnny said,
Take Jimmy Johnson,
take Tommy Tompson.
Take my best friend, Bo.
Take anybody that you want as
long as she don't go.
Take any boy in the world,
daddy please, don't take the girl.


Same old boy, same sweet girl
ten years down the road.
He held her tight and kissed her lips in
front of the picture show.
Stranger came and pulled a gun
Grabbed her by the arm said If you do what I tell you to,
there won't be any harm
And Johnny said Take my money,
take my wallet,
take my credit cards.
Here's the watch that my grandpa gave me
