Authors Note: This is a quick fic from a scene in the manga. I really like the idea of Schrödinger and Gunsche. Yes, I am that weird.
If Schrödinger's characterisation is off a bit, I do apologise. I don't really have the full grasp of him yet. I guess I think there's more to him than meets the eye. His voice isn't as clear as I would like it. If I write more I shall endeavour to try harder. I encourage everyone to write more about him!
Warning: This comes from me reading the fan translation, so any deviance from the official book is unintentional.

"Now if you would all take a look at your guidebooks, The 'VS England operation Sealion 2' Guidebook"
The sound of hundreds of troops rummaging for their books echoed off of the hanger walls. I begin to look for my own copy as the Doc dictated which page we were to read from. Everyone was already at that page and had begun reading. I was still trying to find mine.
A slight panic raised the hairs on my neck as I began to frantically pat my pockets. To tell the truth, I had throw it to one side when we had been issued it. I don't need to look at it, I'm the Warrant Officer, the messenger. I'm the Majors pet. The cheeky scamp who gets a pat on the head for being rude to the boss. Everybody loves little Schrödinger! I wasn't going into war. Only the dogs in front of me.
It may still he in the corner of the old barracks. No one ever cleaned up. Still, this was going to get me on the Docs bad side. Oh well.
"What on earth is the matter Schrödinger?" His shrill voice carried above the din. I sigh inwards and at least act sheepish.
"I lost my guidebook." I say, acting cute to everyone. Most of them will forgive me, but not the Doc. He is less stupid than the Major. Can't win them all.
The Doc sighs and his shoulders slump. I love it when he's frustrated. I could get it in next to no time, or another like it, but that would mean I care. And to tell the truth, I am slightly bored.
"Shame on you!!! You really are useless." He scolds me. I roll my eyes as he tries to tell me off. "Look at the Captains." He orders and turns away.
Now this is not what I expected. I turn to look up at the Captain who is standing next to me. Only his eyes move, down onto me. If there was anyone who would get little old Schrödinger to behave, it's the Captain.
I stare back at him, keeping eye contact. I hope he has forgiven me for my slip of the tongue earlier about the Werewolf unit being able to take down Alucard. I guess some let Vendetta's run deeper than others.
The eye contact is broken when he moves the book in his hand so that its low enough for me to read. I smile, all trace of worry gone from me now. I know he's putting on a façade of indifference, that's what he does. Deep down, he doesn't mind.
I crane up and peek at the page. Not because I want to read about the missions and tactics the troops are to use, but because the Captain has offered me the chance to share his copy. It would be rude and ignorant to refuse such an act. Plus, maybe I want to get a bit closer to my favourite person. Cats are fickle that way.

AN: Sigh. There just isn't enough Schrödinger on the net!
