The Results of Staying up all Night Reading Jhonen Comics.
I look around the corner, cautiously.
I know that they are coming for me.
As I cross the streets in the dead of night,
I hope not to see their light.
As I skeptically look around,
I suddenly hear a loud, startling sound.
Without thinking, I run to a corner
Jump in a doorway to hid from the horror.
To my surprise, I see a cat
As it struts by, I give it a pat.
"Geez, kitty! I thought you were something else!
I'm letting the fears get the best of myself."
I stand up to dust myself off.
Getting out of my fetal position, I am off.
I run across the street, and jump in a field.
With my hands, I form a shield.
Why must I do this, every day?
Run for my life, all the long way.
Fear every step; wait for impending doom.
Keep a watch out for the figures that loom.
I see my house, a block ahead.
I increase to a sprint, running ahead.
I'm now in a full-blown run.
Just a few more seconds, and I'll be done.
I run strait to the door; it is locked.
I attempt to open it, but quickly drop.
I pound and I claw. I need to get in!
As someone opens the door, a collapse in.
I look up breathing harshly. My mom asks "What happened?"
"Aliens *gasp* after me *gasp* Again!"
I collapsed for the moment, then my mom said
"Geez… you need to stop reading comics. Go to bed."
I climb up the stairs, and drop into bed.
Now with a block of ice on my head.
