I wasn't sure if I should post this, as there isn't really a whole lot of poetry on ffn, but I wrote it on a whim, and it's okay, so… what the heck.

(Stars)
You once taught me of stars
Massive burning balls of
Light, and that force that
Pulls and pushes
You were once my star,
Those eyes that burnt into
Mine as you told me that
I am worth
More than the sum of my
Victories and failures
Because I am not just
A machine
Now you are gone and I
Have come to realise I
Am a black hole without
You there, and
I have imploded, my
Homesickness ripped out from
Under my skin and from my
Eyes in screams
I'm not what I once was
A shadow of myself
Incomplete, unfinished
Dark matter
I'll never know just how
You kept me whole, and my
Thoughts inside my head, not
Scattering
The hungry inferno
Behind my eyes, you put
It out with a gentle word
And a touch
Now I am left, a cold
Star in the heavens, dark
Without you to light me
Lost in time
Because you are what grounds
My lightning strike and wakes
Me in the darkest night
From my fear
You are the answer to
My final question and the
puzzle I was solving
all along
And without you there to
make me a good man I
burned too bright, now I'm cold
To my core
I have destroyed myself
In an endless search to
Find what was beside me
All along
I missed my chance to hold
You close, and I would rip
The skies apart to know
You are safe
And I love you

(in case it's not obvious, this is meant to be Sherlock missing John after The Reichenbach Fall, because he had to leave him behind)
