I was dying.

There was nothing I could do about it.

I hated myself right now. I vowed that I would keep Lily's son safe. I vowed to Dumbledore that I would pass on the message to Harry. I vowed that before I died, I would make sure that Harry knew I was on his side. I had done none of these things. I needed Harry would be here.

As if on cue, the arrogant brat appeared. He was under the Invisibility Cloak and now had a strange look on his face that I couldn't read.

I doubted that I had enough life still in me to speak. I reached up and grabbed Harry and pulled him near me.

"Take…it…take…it…."

I let the memories of Lily and Dumbledore flow out of my body and watched as Hermione Granger put them in a small flask.

I didn't have much blood left, but it was okay. I had done my job. I could die in peace.

But I needed one last thing.

"Look…at…me…."

And the last things I saw as the darkness overcame me were the emerald-green eyes that I had always loved.
