Author's Note: Hey guys! Just wanted to publish this narrative poem that I made for English class. Since this is poetry, this doesn't count as my first fan fic. Constructive criticism is appreciated. I know it has redundancy, errors, misspelled names, and the like but at least I got a good grade!
Disclaimer: I don't own PoT! I just love Ryoma, so praise Takeshi Konomi!
The Samurai Junior's Ballad, Echizen Ryoma
There once was a tennis player named Ryoma
A snarky, cocky brat from America
Whose dad was former tennis pro ''Samurai Nanjiroh''
Who, at the time of his fame, quit as legendary pro
Why did he quit you ask?
That's something the world doesn't know
But underneath the mask,
The feelings of a dad would show
He wanted his son to be a real star
And with his skills, shock the world of tennis
He wanted Ryoma to dream and go far
To cross all bounds and go beyond limits
But what his son lacked was passion
To actually know why he plays the sport
And without determination,
Ryoma's dreams to beat his dad would fall short
But then they moved to Japan
And so, Ryoma transferred to Seigaku
There, Ryoma became a man
Where he learned great lessons and gained friends too
There, his passion was awakened
By a great man he never knew
Ryoma's path, this man had straightened
He was Tezuka Kunimitsu
Tezuka was Ryoma's captain
Of the seeded tennis club Seigaku
He guided Ryoma till the end
And watched with amazement how the boy grew
Ryoma beat his opponents one by one
And evolved along the way
A pillar of support he would become
To keep the team at bay
Then, the finals of the Nationals came
And Ryoma's match was Singles one
Against Yukimura, Rikkai's captain
And after much struggle, he won
But Ryoma discovered something more
Something that changed him forever
Why he never found tennis a bore
That tennis was his true ''lover''
That tennis was something he could never hate
And it was what made him live
It was his dream, his life, all inspired by fate
To that which his heart he'd give
To fall in love with a dream,
Is a love that's stronger than what it seems...
