AN: I was so sad after watching TASM2. I guess a lot of people were... Excluding MJ/Peter shippers. I ship them and I ship Gwen/Peter. So it was kind of sad when they killed Gwen off.
This is a short one shot about Gwen as she was falling from the clock tower. I guess things kind of go in slow motion when you realise it's your end. Critism is welcome, but I don't accept flames. Disclaimer: I do not own The Amazing Spider-Man (I'd probably make an awful movie anyway).
Falling.
She was falling. It happened so fast. One minute she was attached to the web and the next...
It was her fault really. She wanted to help and she got tied into this mess. They defeated Electro. But then there isn't really such things as happy endings in real life.
She thought that Peter had saved her. But the cog cut the web and here she was again, crashing to the ground.
Everything was happening in slow motion, which was a surprise. She thought that her fall would be over in seconds, but maybe just maybe she would get out of this alive. Her boyfriend was Spider-Man. He wouldn't let her die.
One.
She started counting the seconds it took her to fall. It couldn't have been that long ago she was at the top, yet she still felt as if her life was ending slowly. Maybe Death was being a tease. Maybe showing her that she still had hope, when there was really nothing left to live for. Or maybe it was a chance to be saved.
Two.
Life was never easy. She'd made so many mistakes, made all the wrong choices, and she thought that she and Peter would make it. She thought that they'd find a small place to live with each other in England, whilst she went to Oxford and he saved the country. They'd be surrounded by people who had posh accents, and drank tea every afternoon. They'd laugh with each other, talk with each other.
The could've had a life. They could've raised a family, and they would've been happy. Now there was no chance of that happening.
Three.
She was stupid. she should've listened to Peter, and she would be walking away from this alive. Her dad was right. If Peter had stayed away from her, she wouldn't be in this mess. Or maybe it had nothing to do with Gwen in the first place. It was Max. If someone had noticed him, or realised that it was his birthday, he wouldn't have become Electro. Harry Osborn was selfish and wanted to survive. If it wasn't for his stupidity she wouldn't be here. She wouldn't be on the verge of death. She wouldn't be crashing to her doom, Peter trying to save her.
Four.
She saw the web come shooting down towards her. There was hope. So much hope, but she felt as if it was going to be for nothing. That this was another tease in saying she could survive. but she might not.
Five.
Six.
Time was speeding up. She was no longer falling in slow motion. It was still slow, but it wasn't the same as before. Her death was speeding up. Sooner or later she would hit the ground and...
Seven.
Eight.
Goodbye mum. I love you so much. Say hi to my brothers. Tell them to never forget me, to always love me. Tell them I'll be fine. I'll be with dad. You know I will. Take care of them. Tell Peter not to worry.
Peter.
She almost forgot. She saw him, and his web, trying to catch her. She knew it wasn't worth it. She wanted to scream to him, to tell him she loved him. But there wasn't any time. She was falling faster.
I love you. I'm sorry. I'll miss you. I'm sorry, so sorry Pete, that I didn't listen to you. But live for me. Don't forget me, don't stop loving me, but find someone else. Don't mourn me. Don't grow old alone. I know we were going to do that together, but you need to find someone else. I love you so so much Peter Parker. Keep being... Amazing.
