Norway was a magical nation, there was no doubt about that. Even though the other nations couldn't see the spirits and fae-creatures that had accompanied him for centuries, he had a mystical and enchanting aura, that along with his slightly whimsical charm led the other nations to find him fascinating.

The fae-creatures were often credited as close family and parental figures by the silent natiion from the north. However, he and his magical friends had had their misunderstandings and small arguments, and after one of those he woke up to find his hair glowing in all the colours of the northern lights. Fairies were peculiar creatures.

His first encounter with fairies wasn't the best. He was a very young nation, and the only one he knew back then was his Troll. His mind was that of a toddler, and he remembered seeing birds catch the buzzing and flying bugs to eat. Surely the glowing, green, flying thing had to be a bug of some sort?

If not his Troll had noticed, the tiny fairy would have ended up as a mid-day snack for a hungry, baby Norway. Troll understood that the tiny nation was hungry, and helped him find some berries to eat.

The tiny green fairy was not in a good mood from almost being eaten and now being convered in baby-drool, so she decided to play tricks on the silently eating nation. She started pulling at his hair and tying it in knots, and stealing berries from him. She only stopped when Troll came back and gave her an angry look. Norway was crying and she was just about to hide away his stray curl.

Norway often thinks back to that day and does his best to keep himself from laughing. Because he knows that if he does, the tiny green fairy will fly away with his curl once again, which she now normally does to mess with him. She's still a bit mad at him, even though centuries have passed.
