He pushed through the crowd while trying to avoid being squashed or stepped on. A little 5 year old boy with dark spikey hair made it to the front of the crowd.

It was a regular day at the markets for him, until he saw a crowd of people surrounding something. As curious as anyone in this situation, he made his way through. What he saw, amazed him.

A man was in the centre, he had a pack of cards on a box and he was speaking. Gon couldn't quite hear him until the man asked everyone to quiet down. "I hope you all enjoy my little show today." He said. Little Gon Freecss didn't understand, but he didn't care. He was just excited to see what the man was going to do.

The man dressed in a suite announced that he would need an assistant. He pointed at a lady from the crowd. She came forward and listened to his instructions carefully. "Pick a card, any card." He said shuffling the cards and spreading them out. The lady picked a card and showed the crowd before putting it back in the deck. The man shuffled the deck of cards and then asked the woman if her card was there. She was shocked to find that it wasn't.

"Do you know where your card might be, ma'am?" He asked. The woman shook her head and looked around the floor. The man said he knew where it was, and he looked straight at Gon. "You were searching the deck and floor when it wasn't there." He said walking over to Gon. Gon could feel everyones eyes on him and his cheeks were tinted pink from the attention.

"Then entire time, it was behind this little boy's ear." The man said before reaching behind Gon's ear and grabbing the card. Gon was amazed. The man gave Gon a warm smile. "A round of applause for our two fantastic assistants please!" As told, everyone clapped. Gon thought that maybe he still had a few cards behind his ears, he poked them, flicked, grabbed at and pulled his ears until they were sore.

He finally gave up and continued to watch the rest of the mans show. He did more amazing things such as pulling things out of his hat, more card tricks and reading people's minds. The sun set and it was time for the man to leave. The boat started to move as he waved to all the islanders and thanked them for watching his show. Gon yelled as loud as he could to get the magicians attention. When he did, he made sure to thank him just as loud.

Gon saw the man give him a thumbs up before the boat dissapeared in the distance.

"You seem like you had fun at the markets today." Mito said to Gon as he ate his dinner. He nodded and swallowed the food in his mouth before speaking. "There was a man doing tricks and he grabbed a card from behind my ear." Gon asnwered with a big smile. Mito laughed and took his empy plate to the sink to wash it.

The man's tricks stayed in little Gon's mind for the rest of night. Gon didn't stop thinking about the amazement and excitement that he felt just watching the man. He knew from that point on, what he wanted to do when he grew up.
