/ Don't be late! / Sasuke was startled when he received the text message. It was almost 11pm and he totally forgot his promise for the Christmas Eve. Working till the last day before Christmas really tires him out.

Grabbing his overcoat, he locked the door behind him and rushed out. Sasuke drove his car in the cold winter night to the nearest convenience store. Luckily, it was still open. He quickly entered the store and grabbed some drinks and some snacks.

"Thank you, sir. Merry Christmas!" said the cashier with a wide smile on his face. Sasuke nodded before he left. Just as he stepped outside, he was bumped by a guy. Before he could say anything, the guy snatched his wallet from him.

"Hey!" yelled Sasuke before he ran after the thief. He managed to pull the thief's sleeve. "Stop it!" said Sasuke.

The commotion attracted some people and they went to the scene. Seeing this, the thief turned and stabbed Sasuke. The thief ran away.

It all happened so fast, that all Sasuke could felt was throbbing pain in his stomach. Other than that was the spreading of warmness across his belly.

"Dammit…" he muttered as he looked down and saw the snow below him was no longer white. It was dark. Darken by his red blood.

And the last thing he could decipher was the voices of people surrounding him. They all sounded like they were actually whispering.

The snow where he laid was no longer cold. And all he could think of was his promise. Then, it was all dark.

It was snowing heavily. "He's late…again" mumbled Sakura as she looked outside the window. It was supposed to be a silent night if not because of the ambulance.

Suddenly a knock was heard on the door. Slight smile appeared across Sakura's face as she walked to the door. She swung it open.

"I'm sorry. I hope I wasn't late enough" said Sasuke and he hugged Sakura. The pink haired lady was rather shocked but she returned the hug.

"Nope, it's not 12 yet" she simply said. "So where's the drinks?" asked Sakura as she pulled away from the hug.

Sasuke shook his head slowly, "I forgot, sorry".

Sighing, Sakura softly tugged Sasuke's hand. "It's okay I have some drinks here anyway" she said, as they both went to the living room.

They took a seat and watched a late show, waiting for Christmas countdown. They did this for 3 years now.

"Merry Christmas, Sasuke-kun" said Sakura after the cheering on TV. "Merry Christmas" replied Sasuke. And Sakura gave Sasuke a soft kiss on his cheek. He returned it with a long, passionate kiss on the lips.

It was Christmas morning. Sakura was awakened. She looked around her room but Sasuke was nowhere to be seen.

/Ring- Ring-/

Her phone rang. She noticed that it was Naruto, calling her so early in the morning.

"Yes?" she answered in a lazy tone.

"Sakura-chan…" Naruto sounded weird at the other end of the line.

"Why, Naruto?" asked Sakura as she tried to adjust her position on the bed.

"Sasuke… he was killed last night" said Naruto.

The phone dropped.
