Shadow Heart
A.N.
Well, what can I say, no Pokemon this time around, no, an attempt at a Kingdom Hearts fanfic. I would honestly have no clue if this is done a lot before, but I thought I'd give this idea a try.
You see, I've always wondered about the heartless, they too were human at some point, what happens if they change? Do they loose all humanity at once? Or slowly, the darkness gently consuming them? What drives a heartless? While pondering these questions I decided to start this story, the story of a person recently changed. While my opinions my not be great in the least, I hope it will still be an interesting read.

Chapter 1
Instinct
Shadows, swirling up, down through and over matter of all kinds, a room filled with darkness. Slowly I move, watching through this ultimate abyss, still even if I know everything is black, I can see, see through the darkness, watch as it unfolds endlessly, forming pathways, swirling vortexes seem to appear in and out of sight, purple and dark blue matter twirling around in a spiral, occasionally it seems as if a shadow flows out of the matter.
Strange, it seems familiar, for some reason I know exactly what they are, portals, to a multitude of worlds and those creatures… they are travelling between them. I'm slightly puzzled, this is the first time I've seen such thing, where I come from we don't have those. I dig in my memories, thinking about where I do come from, strange, my memory draws a blanc, very strange.
I suddenly move as a large creature floats over me, a quick reaction, instinct perhaps pulls me into the darkness beneath me, even though I seem to be floating in space, I merge out of the darkness, half startled, what had happened? Slowly I advert my gaze from the darkness and look at my body, it felt light, nimble and strange, fluid even, but not of any fluid material I would've heard off.
I look at my hands, my body, pulsating shadows moving over them, growing from the darkness beneath my feet and spreading across my body. Was it consuming me? No, I wasn't threatened, it felt more like a part of myself, it was only natural. I shook me head, seeing long dark strands of shadow swish across my face, I grabbed it and looked at it, what was this? I shook my head, this wasn't natural, but still, a feeling inside me told me it was right, it was supposed to be this way, everything was fine, but… something felt lacking.
I let my fingers slide along the strand, I twitched quite a bit, and every move was sporadic and fast, like a nervous deer jumping from side to side. The strand was cold, cold as the darkness that surrounded me, cold as the yellow eyes that could be seen moving through this place, slowly I moved my hand over were my torso would have been.
I rested it there for while, an unknown instinct arising within me; I've lost something, why? Why did I loose it? Maybe, I should do the same to others… some part of me was shocked at the sudden thought, but my mind soothed it and calmed me down, no, it was for a good cause, yes, something greater would profit, for the sake of collecting, collecting for a greater cause.
My sight focuses on one portal, a kind of strange attraction attracting me to it, it seemed a right place, the place to go, my instinct was telling me it was good place to go, so why not go? As if automatically, my body starts to slide into the darkness, moving forward too the portal at a rapid pace and before long I find myself travelling in the darkness, as simple as it could be, I close my eyes, waiting for me to arrive at my destination.
