I suppose it's about time I posted something involving one of the fandoms that got me interested in this site.

The moonlight shining through the window lent an eerie glow to the cape of the Kaitou Kid as he landed in a silent swirl of white silk. Nothing else moved as he glided across the floor toward where gold gleamed among the shadows. Glancing around to confirm that nothing else stirred in the room, the phantom thief took a moment to admire the fine workmanship of the ancient gold artifact before reaching toward it.

His fingertips were inches from the stylized eye on its surface when an iron-strong grasp seized his wrist and a regal growl issued from the darkness.

"Lay a hand on that and you'll lose it."

The thief did not move. "Really, now?"

"Don't push your luck."

The Kid's famous enigmatic grin glinted in the moonlight. "Or what? You'll put me through another Shadow Game?"

"You only got through the last one because Yugi helped you."

"And he likes me, so he won't let you do anything too permanent."

"Not if you keep waking the both of us up at three in the morning. I thought we made it quite clear that visits are to be restricted to daylight hours and out of costume."

"Now where would be the fun in that?"

An angular violet eye slitted open. "Let me put it this way. Why don't you go inconvenience the Tomb Robber, and I might consider not having Catapult Turtle use you for target practice."

"Hmm." The moonlight glinted off the monocle and then the charm hanging from it as the Kid shifted position. "With an offer like that, how could I refuse?"

"And take your –"

The thief did not wait for the end of the sentence and vanished with his signature cloud of smoke and white blossom.

"–flowers with you," the admonishment finished with a sigh. "That's going to be interesting to get out of the carpet in the morning."

Magic Kaito, meet Yu-Gi-Oh. Oh, wait, you already know each other? Never mind, then.
