A/N: One shot exposing Elizabeth's thoughts about Jack. (Not fluff, trust me.) Please enjoy! My apologies for shortness.
Theme: Completely different. Why? One word: Nails
"The two of us; peas in a pod? What an absurd notion," Elizabeth told herself incredulously. It was late at night as she pondered certain annoyingly cryptic comments from certain annoyingly cryptic captains alone in her cabin on the H.M.S. Dauntless. She shook her head, looking down at her fingernails, feeling smug. They were perfectly manicured. After a week of being on a pirate ship, her nails were in serious need of cleaning and trimming; it was a relief to have them back to normal.
She made a little indignant noise. In anyone else it would have been labeled as a rude, unladylike snort. However, this was Elizabeth, so no one would ever associate her with the word 'snort.' "Jack and I; similar? Not a chance," she murmured. A smug smile crept across her face. "Look no further than the nails."
