Parting Words
Mitsuhide Akechi and Nobunaga Oda were lost in battle, fighting for their lives, as well as each others.
Mitsuhide took the final swipe, Nobunaga clutched his side, luckily it was not a deep cut, it wouldn't kill him…
Whilst Nobunaga was still kneeling on the floor Mitsuhide seized the chance before it could pass him by. He held his sword high and swiftly brought it down to Nobunaga's neck.
"I can't do it…" Mitsuhide said. "I can't kill you…" He dropped his sword, he could no longer hold onto it, he was shaking too much.
"It wouldn't have mattered much, I have accomplished most of the stuff that I have wanted to, and most of all, the last thing I would have remembered is seeing the rage in your eyes, rage I have wanted to see for such a long time," Nobunaga said. "Although, of course, I don't want to die…and now I don't see rage, I see fear…" Nobunaga got up.
"I'm sorry…" Mitsuhide began. "I really do want you to rule Japan, I only want to see it unified by you…" Mitsuhide was crying now. A bullet came shooting out of the air, narrowly missing Nobunaga. They both turned to see who had fired it, but it was so dark outside their area that it was impossible to see anyone on the hills that surrounded the area. Whilst Mitsuhide continued to look for this person Nobunaga realised how sorry Mitsuhide really was. Nobunaga put his arms around Mitsuhide and held him there in an embrace for many minutes. Mitsuhide buried his face in Nobunaga's chest, hoping that no one would notice his silent tears. But when Nobunaga let go Mitsuhide's face was wet from the tears, no one could miss that.
"Will you take me back?" Mitsuhide asked.
"You really do love me?" Nobunaga asked. Mitsuhide nodded.
"Of course I will take you back, we will be together again. Me, you, Ranmaru, Nō and Oichi," Nobunaga said.
"Thank you, my lord." Mitsuhide could take it no more, the tears spilled out; it was useless trying to hide them. Nobunaga grabbed Mitsuhide gently and pulled him into a kiss that said everything that needed to be said, Nobunaga shed one tear for Mitsuhide, even though Mitsuhide would never know it.

A/N: When it says 'will you take me back?' it means take me back as an officer in Nobunaga's army (just in case you thought it meant something else). (Although if you want it to mean something else, feel free). Owari!
