Ok so this is a new idea I thought of. As much as it seems like a Raia story, I can assure you it is a Raura story. I'm just sick of everyone making Maia out to be a bitch in all the stories, so I thought of this. This chapter does revolve around Maia, and it is very short, only because it is a starter chapter and I just want to get it going. Secrets should be updated soon.

Chapter One

Maia woke up with major muscle cramps and felt lightheaded, despite the fact that she still lay in bed. This had been going on for the past two weeks now, and she finally decided to book a doctors appointment for later today. Maybe then she could find out why she felt like shit all the time.

She managed to heave herself off the bed, almost stumbling a few times, but she made it onto her two feet. She really wasn't in the mood to dress up, and her appointment was in 40 minutes, so she just threw on the first thing she found, skipped the make up and headed downstairs for breakfast.

As she made her way down the stairs, cautiously, her phone began to ring. She waited until she got to the bottom, before answering it.

"Hey Maia!" Her best friend sang happily into the phone.

Ross Lynch had been her best friend since they were 7. They both attended the same acting courses when they were little. Of course Ross had made a lot more success, where as Maia was still holding on for her big break.

Anyway, Ross was the sweetest guy ever. He was always so carefree and he didn't care what anyone thought of him. Maia had never liked him as more than a friend, but she was sure that he would make an excellent boyfriend one day. He always managed to make her feel special and loved, and they were only friends.

"Hey Ross!" She exclaimed, trying to match his enthusiasm, but didn't quite succeed.

"So I was thinking…do you wanna come over? We can have a movie day!" He yelled excitedly.

"That sounds great, but I have a few errands to run first…How bout I meet you at 3?"

Ross whined like a child who wasn't getting his way. "But Maia, that's 5 whole hours away!"

"I'm sure you'll survive Ross, see ya then", and with that she hung up, cutting off any further complaints from Ross.

She loved the boy, but sometimes he drove her a little crazy. Soon though, they wouldn't be able to hang out as much, since Ross was starting Austin and Ally season 4 in a couple of days, then after that a world tour. She felt a little bad for ditching him today, but she needs to get her sickness sorted out.

Maia sighed as she made her way into the waiting room. The doctor was running 15 minutes late, so that meant she would have to wait a total of 30 minutes before she could see him. If there was one thing that Maia hated, it would be waiting.

So she spent her time just going through her camera roll on her phone, deleting unnecessary photos. The time passed agonisingly slow, but finally her name was called out to go see the doctor.

She followed Dr Reynolds into his office and took a seat opposite him.

"Well Miss Mitchell, what seems to be the problem?"

Tears spilled from Maia's eyes, and she starting hyperventilating. She couldn't believe what the doctor had told her. Why her out of all people? She hadn't done anything wrong, or anything bad, yet she was the one who had to suffer.

And now she only has thirty days to live.
