He doesn't smile very much anymore. He's long since stopped meeting other people's eyes, spends most of his time staring at his shoes, flinching away from contact.
He looks at her, though. She can feel his eyes on the back of her head, angry and frightened. The minute she turns around, tries to catch him, make him meet her eyes, but he looks away every time.
She knows he doesn't love her. In fact, if she had to guess, she'd say that he hatedher. He doesn't fight her anymore, is no longer defiant, she took that away from him at least.
And as she looks at him, at the way he cringes when she touches him, a big part of her feels utterly disgusted by him. A big part of her has to admit that she doesn't love him. She wants him, want to have him be completely hers but ...
Love never really came into it.
