A Puppet's Song

My daughter, if you can hear me, I knew you would return as well. It's in your nature to protect the innocent. I'm sorry that on that day, the day you were shut out and left to die, no one was there to lift you up into their arms, the way you lifted others into yours. And then, what became of you? I should have known you wouldn't be content to just disappear, not my daughter. I couldn't save you then, so let me save you now.

Charlotte was always a kind soul, helping those who others may have turned their backs on, and yet, she was never truly accepted by anyone but her loving father. He was a brilliant man, inventor, engineer and proud co-owner of Fredbear's Family Diner. He always loved making things to entertain her as a small child, little wind up toys, talking plushies, and his favourite, robots, or animatronics.

He had came up with the idea of Fredbear's when Charlotte, or 'Charlie', was 8, but wasn't able to make his dream a reality for about a year until he fell back in contact with an old friend, 'Uncle' Will. She had taken to calling him uncle for he was practically brothers with her dad, and she had no other family she knew of.

Charlie had always loved kids, so imagine her delight when she had met William's three children. Michael was much older than them, but Lizzy and Ben were her best friends for 3 years. That was until the unthinkable happened. First it was Ben. She was told the news when she got home from school.

"Charlie dear, come here please." Her Dad had told her that afternoon.

"There was an unfortunate accident today at the diner. Your friend Ben got to close to Fredbear today during a performance, extremely close in fact, that when he closed his mouth after finishing the song, Fredbear 'bit' down on Ben's head, and he is currently in critical care at the hospital." What they hadn't told her was that Michael and his buds had practically shoved Ben in Fredbear's mouth. Not that it had mattered, however, because five days later he was dead.

Fredbear's was ruined and it only went downhill from there. William had become largely unstable from that point onwards, blaming himself for Ben's death. At one point they tried to get back up on their feet, and William designed new, more advanced animatronics. Her father, Henry, had helped him build the first, Baby, who was based on Elizabeth, but after looking at all the blueprints in detail, abandoned the project, for a reason she had never been told. William, at that point, was too far gone to care, and finished the animatronics, opening 'Circus Baby's Pizza World.' The business ran smoothly for a month, until children who were last seen at the Pizzeria were reported missing. A search was carried out by the authorities, but no one was found. Slowly, the Afton family found its footing again, only to collapse after the next missing report.
